NewFlyer 230 Posted May 10, 2012 #2 Posted May 10, 2012 Has the D train ever went to Far Rockaway? And did the C ever go to Coney Island
B3 Via Av U Posted May 10, 2012 #3 Posted May 10, 2012 Oh nice. to Ditmars. Welcome 1980's. Goodbye 2012!
Guest Lance Posted May 10, 2012 #4 Posted May 10, 2012 Has the D train ever went to Far Rockaway? And did the C ever go to Coney Island No to the first, probably not for the second.
Vistausss Posted May 10, 2012 #5 Posted May 10, 2012 How would one even get the into Far Rockaway? I can't think of at least 1 possible scenario. By the way, for the people who missed it: this is the vid that preceded the one in this thread:
4P3607 Posted May 10, 2012 #6 Posted May 10, 2012 10:57 And I bet the sign said Rector St right? I've ran into that before. Nice anns. tho!
Brighton Express Posted May 11, 2012 #7 Posted May 11, 2012 No to the first, probably not for the second. The has gone to Avenue X and Kings Highway on Culver, and thats it. The has never gone to Far Rockaway.
BM5 via Woodhaven Posted May 12, 2012 #8 Posted May 12, 2012 The can either go along 8 Avenue Express or switch on the local tracks at W.4 Street, or go on the line from W.4 street to Jay Street then switch onto the line. to FR would be serious foam.

I think seeing an R160 in service in the Rockaways would be foam-worthy in itself nowadays. Never mind if it's a really lost train.

I do not see it as extreme foam, but I can surely seeing it happen as the population increases and there is a demand for more lines. When the population increases, people will have to move into those areas receiving low ridership. TwoTimer and I came up with something similar, but it involves the , and the , not the and the .

Threxx Posted May 14, 2012 #13 Posted May 14, 2012 I'll actually foam then... Is there an announcement for an A division line that says a B division terminal? (It can't happen vice versa, don't ask...)
Threxx Posted May 15, 2012 #15 Posted May 15, 2012 No there is not. Why would they even do that? Because the can terminate at Astoria-Ditmars if it had a B Division car pulling it.
NX Express Posted May 15, 2012 #16 Posted May 15, 2012 Since the passengers would not be able/allowed to exit because the gap would be too wide, I doubt it would matter what the train is called.
Threxx Posted May 15, 2012 #17 Posted May 15, 2012 Since the passengers would not be able/allowed to exit because the gap would be too wide, I doubt it would matter what the train is called. They could jump! Ok, that was foam, I said so...
