Harry 1,088 Posted August 8, 2007 Share #1 Posted August 8, 2007 Because of the intense downpours the subways was almost rendered useless this morning. The heavy storm knocked out service to almost every major East river crossing between the hours of 7:00 & 8:00. All east river trains were rerouted over the Manhattan bridge. IRT trains were suspended for the time being and sent back into Brooklyn. All together it took me almost two hours to get to work this morning. My co-worker who comes in from the Bronx experienced the same mayhem. My boss really didn't give a crap anyway because he knew exactly what was happening throughout the region. This was a big storm. It woke me up around 5:15 in the morning with the loudest thunder I have heard in a while. Right now at 11:30 theres still major problems happening throughout the system.
