Bill from Maspeth Posted March 18, 2014 Share #5 Posted March 18, 2014 They were great cars post GOH. But their bodies were completely shot. Very leaky. They leaked like sieves when taken thru the car wash.

Union Tpke Posted March 19, 2014 Share #9 Posted March 19, 2014 These were my second favorite cars, very slightly behind the R32s. I sure hope to ride the museum pair on a fan trip. Long live R32s, R38s, R40S/M and R42s!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DJ MC Posted March 19, 2014 Share #13 Posted March 19, 2014 Warriors come out to play....Hmmm Warriors I don't think R38s appeared in The Warriors, but they could of. The main star in that film was a train of R27/30s.
PATCOman Posted March 19, 2014 Share #14 Posted March 19, 2014 I liked that old number plate they had. I thought it was stupid to put in the new south rollsigns since they were going to go soon (and I don't like the new south signs).
Missabassie Posted March 20, 2014 Share #15 Posted March 20, 2014 Man, those R38s were GR8!
LIRRHicksville Posted March 21, 2014 Share #16 Posted March 21, 2014 I liked the original look of the R38's. They had a thin turquoise stripe, had the letter and destination signs on the front. They were basically in service on the "E" and "F" lines, along with R40 slants. A very common picture shows them on the "RR". Interiors were different shades of turquoise/aqua.
