  1. Service Change Posted: 02/11/2018 9:55AM There is no and train service between 149 St-Grand Concourse and 86 St in both directions. Some southbound trains are stopping along the line from 149 St-Grand Concourse to South Ferry because of FDNY activity at 125 St. Expect delays in , and train service. For service between 125 St and 86 St customers can use the train.
  2. That just won't work at all unless you're willing to change headways... How do you expect the Z to run express and J to make local stops all on just one track? 🤣 (Unless of course you're planning to build a middle track from Crescent Street all the way to 121st Street... that could work, but you still wouldn't be able to have your express service between Broadway Junction and Crescent Street without changing headways: the would have to be more spread out so the can actually run and not have to get stuck behind a every stop). I also love how you've basically changed nothing on the map except for your little " extension", the reopening of Cortlandt Street (which you're calling WTC), the transfer from the to the at Livonia Avenue, and making the an express line.... 😑😑😑
  3. My commute home was pretty funny today... at 59th Street on the UPTOWN , the conductor was trying to announce that the train would be making local stops, and she ended up saying, "The next stop on this train will be 7th Avenue". I don't even think she realized she was wrong, cause at one point the T/O even went on the loudspeaker and said "Partner, you've got it wrong... this is an UPTOWN , the next stop is 72nd Street!" A minute or so later, the conductor went on the loudspeaker again and said "Next stop, 7th Avenue" again. There was a passenger on my train who genuinely got confused and at one point got off the train before someone told him the conductor was wrong and that the train was going uptown.
  4. They could just be urban explorers who go out into abandoned tunnels. There's a ton of NYC based photographers who do that as well, so I wouldn't necessarily say that they're foamers.
  5. It's been there forever, no one changed the signs at that bus stop after the M18 was eliminated... It's not coming back.
  6. Whoops, didn't even realized that was for nights. Then the will most definitely just use its R142s.
  7. Most likely R62As since that's what they've done in the past.
  8. Did anyone else notice that the 6th Avenue line was completely f**ked up today? This morning, and trains were suspended due to a broken rail on the Manhattan Bridge and they ended up sending trains up to 96th Street via the (Q). I ended up taking a rerouted via the and the conductor was obviously fed up with all the confused people who kept holding the train by not even deciding if they wanted to get on or not (and I don't blame him at all). At one point he yelled through the intercom "THIS IS A BROOKLYN BOUND TRAIN THAT'S GOING OVER THE LINE, IF YOU SEE A TRAIN THAT YOU DON'T NORMALLY TAKE ON YOUR ROUTE, THEN LISTEN TO THE DAMN ANNOUNCEMENTS!" Then in the afternoon there was some sorta problem between Rockefeller Center and 7th Avenue that led to and trains being rerouted along the in Manhattan and the in Brooklyn.
  9. I thought the plan was to have the XE40s run on the M42 and the BE40s run on the B32 and B39? That article says the XE40s will run on the M42 and M50 and the BE40s will run on the B32 only.
  10. I'm guessing since it's a weekday and some people are trying to get to work, they wanted to use the articulated buses.
  11. If the Bronx depots are using their own articulated buses today then there isn't any reason for them to borrow standard buses from other depots. During the last few snowstorms the articulated routes have been using standards so they needed to borrow from other depots. Today it isn't like that so they don't need to. It's as simple as that.
  12. Considering that most of the articulated routes are using articulated buses and not standards today I wouldn't count on there being any loans in the Bronx today. The only exception is the Bx19, but West Farms has enough buses that they won't need to loan anything.
  13. Because it's a weekday and they need to run buses. It'd be fine if this were a weekend and then they could run 40-footers but that's hard to do today with all those buses outside.
  14. Is 5447 SBS wrapped or will it be coming in the local scheme? I guess we'll probably get that info when the assignments come out...
  15. Snow loans are out today. In the Bronx, the Bx22, Bx40 and Bx42 are 100% CNG, Gun Hill is borrowing Old Gens from Queens Village and Kingsbridge is borrowing Next Gens and RTS from Casey Stengel and Jamaica, respectively.
  16. I don't think they'll need to test... They can probably just go straight into service if I'm not mistaken. I'm guessing more R179s will be rolling in throughout the next couple of days?
  17. Oh whoops, I for some reason can't see that "sarcastic" post, so I thought you and Calvin were referring to my earlier post. Carry on.
  18. Its at the Northeastern Satellite Facility in the Jamaica Neighborhood of Queens. That's what I meant by JFK, since that facility is in JFK and it's also been referenced to as JFK many times on this site. Photo by Trevor Logan Jr.
  19. I think 7484 is still at the JFK facility, I'm not sure if assignments are out yet for the XD40s
  20. Extra service along the BMT Broadway Line since the is suspended this week from Broadway Jct to Forest Hills. They'll be running extra trains from Chambers Street to Broadway Jct until Friday night, when the goes back into service.
