  1. when i worked at Flatbush, there was a B/O that had "grievances" on the 41, 44, & 49 for the same crap. at 100 street, i legit knew a few B/O's that couldn't work the 101/2/3 for similar "female related grievances"
  2. unbelievable. seems to me like dude was trying to impress some mediocre *ussy because this was probably the first female to pay attention to him in Lord knows how long... and now? career done. what's sad to me is that I've seen B/O's throw away their seniority/careers over having baby mommas on a bus line/getting run off of lines/getting run out of depots due to baby momma drama with female co-workers and/or civilians... NEVER thought some shit like this would be going on downstairs smh
  3. when i was line training on the B7 (at East NY) dude fell asleep for an entire southbound trip to Midwood... like snoring/knocked out sleep (on a 86xx RTS to be exact) matter fact, i had a few B/O's pass out on me... hella comfortable, i guess.
  4. is that supposed to be funny? dog, don't do no shit like that again. please and thanks. ✌🏾
  5. funny. i was wondering the same thing, because i haven't heard jack shit on any level.. and i haven't personally visited that area in quite some time. I'm almost sure covid had some bearing on this project, though.
  6. historically, there's usually a hiring freeze or pause when a new president (or governor for that matter) is elected.
  7. to my knowledge, the issue is operator training, and getting the majority of operators trained beforehand, regardless of if you pick the avenues (m15/101/2/3), the 31 or the x (extra list) I believe it'll be the same (staggered) process for us in KB, over at MV & anywhere else for that matter. there was an issue in training when the xd60's hit 100 street, and the d60hf's were being phased out, so they're doing their due diligence iinm also, i do believe the 31 has reliefs on 92nd (like 100 street used to have for the 86) there's a swing room (or at least there was) on 92nd that's maintained by 100 street cleaners, btw.
  8. technically, it's not about memory. stops are listed on paddles. also, the lollipop bus stops help when the cross street is displayed
  9. personally, i announce every stop on a run (if i know them) if i don't know all stops, then i only announce major intersections/transfer points (which is the actual requirement) some b/o's get funky with it, announcing other points of interest, schools, museums, hospitals, etc (which, at times, is my personal preference... it helps pass the time) when i worked the b82, I'd announce south shore h.s., glenwood houses, Madison h.s, bildersee jhs, ny community hospital (on kings highway) and so on. it seems like alot, yet when you do the same run or line months on end (depending on what you pick) it becomes habit.
  10. kudos to you for that. i never understood why they tried to shoehorn M101/2/3's & BxM1's in that stop (among others) a point that is still grossly glossed over, as if it has no validity, regardless if it's local/sbs or express service. i apologize if this has been mentioned, but it would take a uniform culture change for things such as this not to occur. as has been stated, G.S to G.S, Superintendent to Superintendent, policy can/is interpreted differently. i had a concern (never written up) about pulling away from the curb and whether or not to reopen my doors to "service" the stop again (seeing as i had already serviced the stop by the book) I've heard several different points of view, ranging from Superintendents at Zerega, Spring Creek (for 19A) SLD's & G.S's/AGM's. when you have the human element, i get why person to person, there will be different perspectives. however, policy is policy. and if you as an organization train every 19A dispatcher/SLD/G.S/AGM to analyze situations (including accidents) with uniform general practicality based on concrete rules/practices WITHOUT PRE-DETERMINED BIAS/MALICE, instead of everyone analyzing things based on what side of the bed they got up from/emotions, then things would significantly change. going back to training, days 1-7/8/9/10... pick random B/O's and guaranteed they'll all tell you (myself included) how differently their training superintendents instructed them. that's a big problem in all honesty.
  11. ...which, based solely on history, is the likely outcome for an allotment such as this. they very well could do 20-20-20-20, or something of the sort. it's never been set in stone that any bus order will be in "perfect", sequential order. which imo will probably be the "final" change to this order lol. i mean, 200+ units to a single yard in one shot before another yard gets their units is a bit much to expect, so it'll more than likely be a piece job. ultimately, the good news is that MV gets new units... LONG overdue (especially with the service miles their units accumulate in passenger service... not to mention shuttle work/loans to OF, etc). but we'll definitely see the sequence play out in time.
  12. if he meant xd40's... i didn't even consider them being moved either tbh (full disclosure: i almost forgot CS had xd40's... sue me lol) first though when i read the potential delivery allotment: dem NG's = gone
  13. alright, I'll bite. why would CS part with XD60's aside from summer loans?
  14. a few things (barring any further changes) so, hunnit street gets new units for the m31 (which moves those 39xx's lord knows where)... while MV gets it's entire fleet replaced in one shot (give or take... I'm not sure that's an accurate assumption/assessment) so before the 'how come Manhattanville never gets new buses?' bs starts again... THIS is why. OF's allotment increased by 8. so, no xde40's for CS... they'll get strictly diesel novas instead. no LFS diesels for East NY, redistributed between JA & CS. .. I'm slightly disappointed. would've been nice to see those on the B14/17 or B45/65. am i missing something as to the reason why SC will receive 10 less units? I'll reserve further judgment, as nothing is set in stone with these deliveries.
  15. funny... I've had quite a few B/O's out of Far Rock start to say that to me when I've waited to board either the Q21/41 or QM15 at the 89th St & 155 Av stop in Lindenwood.. then i flash my pass with the "give me a friggin' break" look on my face (even being masked up, they know that i know that's BS)
  16. what typically happens is that depot logos are slapped over a unit's former yard logo, and over time (rather quickly tbh) the adhesive wears off, be it because of the bus wash or day to day weathering. as has been mentioned, certain yards are slow to relabel (properly or improperly) the "newest" units (MV & WF) however, more times than not, yard logos don't come off when they're affixed to the 'quality control bus' logo.
  17. if i needed the m20 to save my life, I'd have been a dead duck several times over in my past. on nice days, I've trekked from 14 street to central park without a hint of a 20 appearing. and i actually enjoy walking (the job being what it is) but i couldn't help but feel some kind of way. in all honesty, I've been waiting for the taps bugle call for the 20 going back to when the m10 stopped terminating at MSG.
  18. we don't. it's just out & out ignored, which is a microcosm of society these days. muthaf**k logical reasoning, things should be this or that way, and that's that.
  19. the 20 is an absolute joke on the west side. one would think that it'd be more successful than it is... which is what perplexed me about the M12 experiment. they've gone out of their way to basically give up on the 20 (short of a elimination proposal) yet you conjure up the M12.. to boost west side bus service 🙄
  20. shiiid, i wouldn't be surprised if they'd stop at nothing to pull off shenanigans to somehow reduce service (a-la B41)
  21. btw, the 35's scheduled headway is what it is even with patronage being chicken-hawked by dollar cabs (and just today, i was on church and east 49, and I see that the jitney vans have now descended on church av) despite this, guaranteed the JG artics will be reminiscent of the GH/two-six 12xx artics in matter of time.. beat to shite. so imagine, if they had less than 40 artics to beat to death.
  22. exactly. right now, there are approx. 25-26 runs on the B35... all artics. if you run any combination of 26 artics 24/7, well congratulations, MDBF just shot up in your depot exponentially, and for no good reason other than to add stress (and unnecessary OT) for the mechanics (at least in management's eyes)
  23. to my understanding and according to people i spoke with, technically, the B98v & Q98v are internally "assigned" to FB & JK, respectively. however, any gaps will be plugged by other yards, which has already happened re: FP and GA (iinm) in the case of JK, bus company yards will be called to plug service gaps, depending on spare availability and operator availability. that doesn't mean that this will be the only way they'll cover service on these lines. for example, today on the midday train shuttle from far rock, run 525 on the 53 sbs was temporarily assigned to do a trip (or trips). that philosophy will be implemented on these vaccine lines if need be, even with ½ hour headways. i think I've mentioned it here, that years ago, when i worked at 100 street, the SLD(s) at Cooper Union used to pull runs off the m101/2 to run 103 shuttles from Cooper union to city hall on weekends. my point being is that any odd-ball depots running on either line is definitely by design.. by hook or by crook, make service.
  24. yup, on the front only. side sign = Q98v EDGEMERE orion OG btw, didn't catch the bus number.
  25. i saw that Q98v today (approx. 9:15pm @ rockaway bl & cross bay) and that front destination sign font is AWFUL. front display = Q98VEDGEMERE
