"There are no alternative services". So they basically told S55, S56, S59, S60 and S66 costumers "screw you!" and told them to find their own way there. This is why ridership is declining.
Also I never knew that the S59 served Jewett Ave😂
What was the bus number? I want to see if I can track the location of that bus.
On the last day of X10 service, I remember seeing a LFS bus sitting at the Castleton depot on BusTime (And it was almost time for an X10 to depart), but they swapped it out or a Prevost a few minutes later.
I think that if the express fare was lowered to around $4.50, then transit buses would be acceptable. The speed of the buses is basically because the locals are governed so low (however some SI LFS buses are governed at higher speeds).
Does anyone know if the testing of 23 (the MCI with the low floor) was successful?
Random thought: Why is there a 30 minute wait between S48 buses going towards the Ferry in the AM rush? You have the 7:04 AM out of Arlington, then a bunch of S98's every 6 minutes and then a 7:34 AM S48. People waiting for the S48 in the morning at a local stop are supposed to walk to the S98?
The S79 SBS needs artics. But I know that won't be happening anytime soon.
Another major stop (on school days) is Hylan/Ebbitts (especially towards Brooklyn). People would walk down to Guyon just to get a not-packed S79 going towards Brooklyn. You could wait 30 minutes until a S79 actually stops there and you can get on. (I wouldn't be surprised if some people took the S78 to the S53/93 to get to Brooklyn since there's always a ton of S78 school trippers from the south shore going towards the Ferry at that time).
Went to board the 9 PM S44 from the ferry and saw an S94 instead. That makes sense since there is a 9:01 PM S44 on Saturdays. (They should do this more often).
The B32 connects Williamsburg with LIC. Even though it doesn't directly connect with the , it could help with people in those areas who originally walked to the . If the was to fully shut down, this line would of ran every 15 minutes instead of every 30.
The B91/92 we're Overkill but like I said before, The B91A doesn't look like it would be picking up that much more either. The B91A is basically a short turn of the B62, with NB buses taking Robeling Street instead of Bedford Ave. It would make much more sense to have some B62 short turns from WBP to LIC and increased B32 service during the time that the is running every 20 minutes instead of this short shuttle.
