  1. Since Friday (3/28/12)is the drawing of the largest single game lottery jackpot in US and maybe world history, couple of songs dealing with money. 1)"Money" Pink Floyd 2)"Mo Money Mo Problems" Biggie Smalls featuring Sean Combs and Mase (aka Biggie last #1 hit)
  2. I forgot to mention in my ideas before that the "B2" would become a rush hour only line while the "B100" basically replaces it(B2)with expanded service 7 days a week.
  3. B35=This is pretty much how I would restructure things in SW Brooklyn.... {any route not mentioned = no changes... on the SW brooklyn end anyway} B2: Kings Plaza to Xaverian HS [shore rd/mackay pl] (via Av. R, via av P, via 65th st) Not a bad idea. I think extending the B31 to Xaverian makes more sense connecting more of Gerristean. B3: 25th av to Bergen Beach [veterans/E. 71st] (via Av U) I would restore some peak hour "B3" starting/ending at East 16th & "U" station. B4: Bay Ridge [86th/4th] to Sheepshead Bay [knapp/voorhies] (via 86th st, shell rd, av. Z, via current B4 routing south of ocean/av z) I don't think 86th Street needs '2' full length routes along entire length of that busy road since it can get congested. Keep it on Bay Ridge Parkway and terminate at 86th/4th via 3rd Avenue. And late evenings between 11pm-1am run it only between Sheapshead Station and 86th/4th. B5: Bay Ridge [narrows/77th] to Coney Island [stillwell/surf] (via bay ridge pkwy, stillwell, 25th av, cropsey) Basically a semi return of the old "B4" route that ran between 25th Ave/Cropsey and Narrows/77th. With that read my comments on the B4. B16: Shore rd/4th av to parkside av (via ft. hamilton pkwy) Agree 1,000%. It's a shame that currently only the "B11" serves Maimonides. Plus it would improve realbility and even the use of less buses. B23: 86th/Ft. Hamilton pkwy. to Canarsie [flatlands/E. 96th] (via 86th st, via 13th/14th avs, via cortelyou, via av. D, via foster) See you trying to create a new route to relieve overcrowding on the "B8" and "B35." I don't it needs to go to Canarsie but instead have it terminate at Utica Ave. If ridership picks up then maybe an extension later. Plus playing devil's adovcate it parells the "B8" too much. B50: Coney Island av/Quentin rd. to Starrett city [seaview/penn.] (via kings hwy [to Av. K]), via flatlands) I still think there a market to go to Gateway Mall or even Elderts Lane(Brooklyn Postal Facility). The MTA even listed in an intial study listed a B82 SBS route between Gateway/Elderts Lane and Caser's Bay. With that said, I would run this "B50" between Gateway and CI Ave/Quentin. While keeping a "B82" between Stillwell Terminal and Rockaway Pwy "L" station. And yes i seen a few riders go from Eastern Brooklyn-Bensonhurst on the B82. Just have to agree to disagree Bro(B35). B64: Bay Ridge [86th/4th] to Mermaid bus loop/terminal (via VA hospital, via bath, via stillwell) How about a wild card and merge the B64 with the B70? It would link Sunset Park (aka so called Brooklyn's new "Chinatown)Dyker Heights and Bensonhurst which would be a great alternative especially during GO's to the "N" and "D" lines. B70: Shore rd/4th av to Sunset park [39th/1st] (via 3rd av, bay ridge av, 8th av) Read my B64 comments. B100: Mill Basin to Caesars Bay shopping ctr. (via fillmore, via kings hwy, via bay pkwy [to end of road;]) I keep the B100 as it. I would re-route the line to run via Quentin, Grestien, Fillmore, Flatbush, Ave U, East 66th to current terminal and can the "B2." The B31 is the one that should be extended IMO to either Caser's Bay or even to Bay Ridge. Aso I'd have the.... - B1, 4, 64, and the SI buses terminating at 86th/4th.... - B2 & B9 having common terminals on both ends (at Kings plz. & at Xaverian) - B16, 63, 70 terminating down at shore rd/4th av - B64, 68, 74 terminating inside mermaid bus loop, and the B5 terminating just off the corner of stillwell/surf (like the 82 used to) - B31 (all times) & B2 (part time) terminating at kings hwy ( B)... (B100's would have no short turns).... B35. The B31 does not need owl service between 2-5am. And what about restoring full time "B8" service to 95th/4th station bro?
  4. It's actually sung by the 5th Dimesion. Still a cool classic song from the late 1960's and the height of the NASA space era to the moon.
  5. Bro(B35) the current (B82) despite it's flaws works. Again the only change i would do is. 1)(B82)between Canarise-Rockaway Pwy and Stillwell Terminal. 2)"B81" between Elderts Lane via Starret City(Spring Creek Towers)and East 16th/Kings Highway ( station.
  6. "Wake Up Everybody" Harold Melvin and Blue Notes featuring Teddy Pendergrass
  7. A great old school disco/gospel classic from the 1980's. Still played occasionally on Kiss-FM in NYC. "I want to thank you" Alicia Myers.
  8. Hey another proposal by a middle school kid in 'love' with NYC Buses. Don't forget (not to meant to break your heart three)is add in money and politics to the idea. Replies in red. Replies in Red.
  9. Bro one question? What serves Cropsey between 25th Ave and Stillwell? The renamed (B64) which becomes the "B5" under your plan? I still agree with cutting the "B82" as i still felt one route should run between Canarise-Rockaway pwy. and Stillwell/Caser's Bay (B6) terminal. While the restored (B50) runs between Coney Island/Kings Highway and Gateway Mall/Spring Creek. Reactions and please clarify (B35)?
  10. Ideally this is what the (B2) (B4) and (B36) should like. (B4)Knapp Street service weekdays 6am-11pm Saturdays 7am-11pm Sundays 8am-9pm All other times at Sheapshead station B2 restore Saturday service running every 15 minutes from appx. 8am-8pm. B36 10 minute headways saturdays 11am-8pm and sundays 12 Noon-6pm.
  11. Welcome aboard (B36). Please introduce yourself in new members section when you can? I see you live in LI, did you live in Brooklyn near the '36" at one point? Second i know the (B36) well as i used to live in CI/Sea Gate area at the West 37th Street gate. With that said, The (B36) does not need a limited. It needs better headways and even short trips i.e Sheepshead Station and West 37th during rush hours. If anything the (B3) and even the (B8) which are both busier crosstown routes needs it more. A big factor in increasing B36 ridership was the cut of (B4) service to Knapp Street. That put more pressure on the "36" and reason it subject to more delays as the only east-west route connecting the Sheapshead road station with rest of Sheapshead Bay. So sorry gotta disagree. The B36 needs better and more frequent service along restoring at least all day weekday the (B4) to Knapp Street *first* before we talk about a 'limited." Sorry gotta to disagree.
  12. Couple of big hits from 2-hit wonder Terence Trent D'arby from the late 1980's. Mr. Darby was suppose to be the "next prince." LOL. Sadly it did not work out that way. 1)"Sign Your Name" Terence Trent D'arby - Sign your name high quality - YouTube 2)"Wishing Well" Terence Trent D'Arby - Wishing Well HQ [1988] - YouTube
  13. Interesting bro(MHV). Some damn good songs by the Clash. One thing classic rock stations such as NYC Q104.3 often overlook was the huge influence reggae had on the so called punk rock era especially during the early 1980's. Crossover Pop stars from Blondie to the Go-Go's and of course the Police and the Clash all were influenced by Bob Marley, Ken Boothe and others. It would be nice for classic rock stations like Q104.3 and close to my home WPDH play more of these rarely heard songs.B) Thanks MHV for the link to that rarely heard Clash song.) Now my pick for the Police and a song that was heavily influence by reagge. "message in a bottle'
  14. Here are '2' songs from the early 1980's both were among the first music videos MTV made into a classic. 1)"Whit IT" BY DEVO 2)The Clash "Rock the Casbah"
  15. Boyz II Men 1st major hit circa summer of 1991. "Motown Philly" Boyz II Men.
  16. Burrstone in replies to easier mass transit connections between LGA/JFK and Nassau not alot to offer. One 'wild card' could be to extend the (Q33) to 61st-Woodside for connections will almost all of the LIRR lines. Or create a new route running between LGA and Woodside LIRR. Some travel tips. If you near the Pt Washington line, you can right now get off at Main St-Flushing and transfer to the (Q48) straight to LGA. For JFK (other than the Pt. Washington)get the airtrain at Jamaica-Supthin Blvd. As i myself travel a few times a year JFK should bring back the intra terminal bus shuttle as the airtrain is a long walk. So hope this helps Burrstone. With that said guys feel free to create a new thread on Nice Bus connections to LGA and JFK. Lets return to the current thread dealing with the April bus changes.
  17. I guess you mean the Brooklyn(4th Ave/West end) section right?
  18. Or a better option would been extend the ® to Parsons/Archer since the ® is running 24/7 during this 6th ave line shutdown.
  19. JUNJUN welcome aboard. Please avoid triple posting your comments in a row. Thank You.
  20. Cool thanks. Looks like from readin that map these changes occured besides the 6th Ave line shutdown. They seem to include the running overnight the full route, along with the having 'owl' service via the Bridge. And the also running as an 8th Ave express all night between 145th and Canal. Still a Fulton Local in Brooklyn.
  21. Dumb question guys. During this fasttrack shutdown of the 6th Ave line by having the and between West 4th and 42nd-PABT not cause chaos with a conga line even with 20 minute headways overnights? They are all sharing the 8th Ave local tracks. Unless of course the is running express during this overnight period as well.(IMO it should and have the run local between 145th and West 4th)
  22. You sure you been to LI? Everyone knows the LIE is Interstate 495 and not 295? I am starting to think all of your master plans QJ is made from reading and studying from a map i.e mapquest.
  23. Keystone with the price for cheapest seat at citifield now at least $30-$40 to watch a possible last place club in 2012, i am sure riders could afford the LIRR between the ballpark and Pt. Washington/Great Neck to 'park and ride' their cars.
