  1. Because Checkmate disagrees with the and feels the S79 does not need SBS service. Instead i think checkmate has proopsed 6-day a week (Monday-Saturday)full time S79 limited stop service. PS Threxx have you been to SI before on a bus? Not being rude just curious.
  2. B35 here the much better and real version of this 'joint.' RUN DMC the real Kings of RUN DMC IMO. Yet my students yawn when i mention them lol. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KC6cjzoG1-Q
  3. See (B35) i replied to his brooklyn bus suggestion honestly. I know he a teen and may disagree with me but i tell the honest not politically correct replies to everyone here on the boards whether they are 35 years old or 15 years old. Plus i been riding the NYC subways/buses before Threxx was even born.
  4. An classic song from the one of the most popular films of the 1990's. The theme to Lion King. Elton John "Circle of Life."
  5. Agree 100% on the Q4. I think the was on verge about 5-6 years back to do so but i heard the NIMBYS in Valley Stream blocked it. So not sure the discussed "Q4" extension will ever happen not that LI Bus/NICE is not in opeartions any more. The Q53 Super express pre- days is not returning and honestly does need to. If ever the only the Q53x is needed is during a few trips during summer weekends only. The existing Q53 works and if any minor changes is make less stops along Woodhaven/Cross Bay and that it.
  6. Threxx relax. As a teen i give you credit as many new yorkers of all ages have never heard of Robert Moses. With that said, I am sure if the Belt Parkway was able to handle MCI buses they would have created a Bay Ridge/SI-JFK express bus already. The MCI and RTS/ other 40 foot size that you sometimes see on the Belt are only allowed between Knapp Street and the VZ Bridge or BQE merger. The purpose for express buses is to provide bus service between the outerboros of Brooklyn, Queens, SI and the Bronx and Manhattan in areas far away from a subway or LIRR/Metro North access. Areas in Brooklyn like Park Slope/Red Hook, Greenpoint/Williamsburg only needs a local bus. As far as a Greenpoint bus IMO they only a need for a weekday route between say the Lorimer/Metro Av station and East Midtown. Not every neighborhood Threexx can have a 1-seat ride to/from Lower and Downtown Manhattan. They can transfer to the Lex, 7th Ave and 8th Ave subway lines from say a Greenpoint-Midtown bus or take the to Hoyt and transfer to/from the . Also for Red Hook/Park Slope before 2010 the proposed extending the old B71 to South Ferry via the Battery Tunnel. That makes more sense than an express bus. For Brownsville/East NY/Crown Heights, IMO there no need for a express bus. The will agrue that the is nearby. A better argument is for the B51 to return connecting with the crosstown buses in Downtown Brooklyn mainly the B25, B45, and B65. Hope this is fair honest reply Threxx.
  7. Replies in Red. Not a bad idea. Issue Concourse why it's not likely to happen is fact a tons of riders including riders in the so called "Brooklyn Chinatown" use the to transfer to the Flushing Line. How do you address that Concourse? That the reason back in the 1980's the and switched Queens terminals. What yards does the 96th & 2nd-Bay Ridge serve? It makes it diffcult for a direct service without backtracking. ®Ideally it should be shortned. The only way this works is for instance create a new Bay Ridge-Chambers Street line that runs 24/7 as the proposal does not work. Just my takes Concourse.
  8. Threexx i think honestly stick to making proposals to Local Brooklyn bus routes where your ideas are much more better until your ride more of the express buses. You making proposals on express bus routes is like me making a judgement on "Glee" "Jersey Shore" "Justin Briber" or "Rhinna' i am not that hip lol into today's current 2012 songs or teen culture lol. You admit yourself you been on Brooklyn express buses and never on the X29. Trust me if the X29 came back it should as (B35) and couple of guys suggested suggested a few trips to/from Manhattan on rush hours that it. I don't think the X29 is coming back though as you more likely to see Sunday X27 or X28 BM1, 2, 3 Sunday service. I much more agree with many of Brooklyn and Queens bus ideas so stick to that IMO. So briefly my replies. The X29 never had weekend service. Second you be wasting monies i.e you have the train train (weekdays) and train in addition to the BM3 nearby. Second Ridgewood has a MTA express route but it was cancelled due to low ridership during the June '10 Doomsday Cuts. Greenpoint is better off with a proposed local bus since it close to Manhattan. Before the June '10 Doomsday Cuts, the had made a propsal for a Greenpoint-Midtown bus line via the Midtown Tunnel but was cancelled due to "Doomsday." And Threexx the Belt Parkway can not handle MCI coaches due to design/height restrictions by Robert Moses the designer of that highway and many of NYC Bridges. Threxx do a search on who he is?)and that my honest takes. I am a honest guy and trying to make you smarter. FYI. There other teenagers on this site who make great ideas IMO so it's not picking on you because of your age. Just a tough teacher lol and hope you understand. Guys if this young man is making serious proposals just provided a real 'adult' reply and sorry if sound rude
  9. If anything the should be running at least until 1am(last train leaving Midtown Manhattan)or even ideally running 24/7 the full route between Bay Ridge and Queens via Manhattan. That why the S53/79/93 could(and should stay at 86th and 4th). I also agree with LRG though on creating hourly-headways(buses running every hour overnights)on both the S79 and S59. Especially with so many new homes/condos being bulit along Richmond Ave in last 10-15 years.
  10. I seen a couple of you suggest the S53/79/93 and a possible S53 limited(my proposed name for now)be extended to 59th/4th? I understand the main purpose is to provide a direct connection to the subway express. However playing devil advocate some issues to be raised. 1)Should the S53/79/93 use the BQE/Gowanus direct to 59th/4th and bypass the busy and important 92nd and 86th St bus connections? 2)if the SI buses uses 4th Ave, should a SBS lane be created? 4th Avenue especially during the rush hour can be very busy and add at least 20 minutes to the trip? 3)Do you elimante the late night shuttle if the S53/79/93 is created? Please address those issues guys.
  11. Threxx sorry if before i sound rude to you and not trying to berate you. My point was how could you provide an 'honest' view of a bus route riding it once in that case the X27/28. I rode the X27/28 reguarly(at least 2-3x a month) when i used to live in Sea Gate a decade ago. And even in recent years living now in upstate Dutchess County, before the June '10 cuts, I still use the X28 between Metro North at Grand Central. I would of course walk between GCT 41 and 5th/Madison for that route. The X27/28 on weekends sometimes was a life saver compared to the "GO'S that would often affect subway service. With that I always said, IMO Saturday X27/28 should have *never been cut.* My point Threxx is ridership was terrible and low on the X27/28 to run Sunday service. The reason Threxx i said to take an economics course to better understand monies dont grow on trees. I would the use the monies wasted to run X27/28 Sunday service to instead for example restore Weekday B39 and B51 service. That my whole point. Hope Threxx and everyone now understands.
  12. I admit i don't know Queens as well as say my old boro Brooklyn lol. With that said, I did work in Queens (Maspeth)in late 1990's and still have cousins in SE Queens(Springfield Gardens/Rosedale)so i have some knowledge of that boro bus service. So let me reply to couple of these proposals. Replies in red. Replies in red.
  13. "Sail On" Lionel Ritchie and the Commodores My late Dad loved this R&B/County/Soft Rock classic. In recent years I have as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w30VyJsru5E
  14. Biggest solo hit (from the 5th member of the Beatles) from the late Billy Preston. Man that the biggest afro i ever seen lol. "Will go around in circles" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=niDxPGW23DQ&feature=fvwrel
  15. Checkmate I agree with most of your ideas above. Just couple of quick points. 1)There no need for a 24/7 "S89" Newark Airport-SI Bus. IMO it should operated by either (NJT) or one of the private carriers i.e Academy Bus taking Metrocards. IMO it should run every 30 minutes rush hours and every hour all other times appx. 5am-12:30am. Plus IMO a Newark Airport-SI should be a separte route and use the Gothehals Bridge to not only serve Elizbeth. It should also and provide connections to (NJT) NE Coordior and Jersey Coast line trains. Leave the "S89" Bayonne-SI line alone(it should be expanded to run at least all day weekdays with 30-minute headways.) 2)IMO running both the S93 and S83 Saturdays as it is 'excessive." I agree with expanding the S93 to all day weekdays (i.e 30 minute headways weekdays)but on Saturdays '1' Bay Ridge-Clove Road limited is enough. 3)If you going to create a "S79A" might as rename IMO the "S77" to avoid confusion. I got couple of more comments but i am typing this at work so i reply later during the week checkmate.
  16. High . that exactly the well i feel about your comments below. I agree 1,000%(other than i would run the S79 all day weekdays until 8pm though). The only reason IMO the created SBS for the S79 was political and thus SI political leaders wont scream and moan about not having SBS service. Also the "S93" has enough ridership IMO right now to run 30-minute headways middays as well. However no need for weekend S93 service.
  17. What day Threxx? I used to ride the X28 'reguarly' when i used to live in Sea Gate/Coney Island during the Stillwell Terminals/Manhattan Bridge closing between 2002-'04. Even Sunday service even then was very low until the end in 2010 with zero riders. Again Threxx it seems you dont take me serious and are not open to honestly as I am a 39 year old man and you in middle/high school. You seem to be VG8 younger brother lol. Just have to agree to disagree.
  18. Agree to a point S78. Yet Threxx makes some of the proposals and never been on the X27/28 ever. Kid (Threexx)if you want to proposals you should ride the line first before making a suggestion IMO. In case you dont know not trying to being insulting it makes you look like a 'foamer' a slang of transit site members that makes unrealistic ideas without regard to expensives. No offense taken Threxx. The X27/28 has more ridership on Saturdays than the BM1, BM2, 3 & 4. It should have only lost Sunday service.
  19. Agree. Yet Threxx makes some of the proposals and never been on the X27/28 ever. Kid (Threexx)if you want to proposals you should ride the line first before making a suggestion.
  20. Ok. what about the X27/28 weekend service? is it saturday only.(which IMO is only they need it)
  21. Threxx yes. You never replied to this comment from a few days back above.
  22. Some last memories of Dick Clark mentioning "Bandstand" or his New Years Eves specials. 1)The Twist 2)Madonna "Holiday" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r0JTJc67neY 3)"Boggie Fever" 4)Donna Summer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ArOZQ6OPUTA 5)Micheal Jackson
  23. Goji good pick. One of the biggest hits of 2011. Just only couple of months back LRG also put up this song.
  24. The American Bandstand theme of the 1970's/80's by Barry Manilow. RIP Dick Clark.
