Fresh Pond Posted February 5, 2010 #8 Posted February 5, 2010 Don't mean to sound like a noob but what exactly is plan 4?
mark1447 Posted February 5, 2010 #9 Posted February 5, 2010 Don't mean to sound like a noob but what exactly is plan 4? I thought that too, but it means that all trains(Except for some, non-revenue) are being stored underground on the Express tracks, service ends for some lines, most trains go local on its mainline, shuttle extended to 149th st, 42nd St runs all night, Rockaway extended to Euclid, dunno about Lefferts/Franklin GENERAL ORDERS(Service Detours/construction) are canceled to add! this is for heavy snow storms days(s) btw what are the other plans and meanings, i forgot
Amtrak7 Posted February 5, 2010 #10 Posted February 5, 2010 The MTA has posted a press release: http://mta.info/mta/news/releases/?en=100205-NYCT19A All GO's cancelled except for the work (and the station rehabs of course).
duelingdragons Posted February 5, 2010 #11 Posted February 5, 2010 Don't mean to sound like a noob but what exactly is plan 4? Lol.. I think he was just shortening "plan for"
asidrane Posted February 5, 2010 #12 Posted February 5, 2010 Lol.. I think he was just shortening "plan for" There are certain winter weather advisory plans. Plan 4 involves laying up trains on express tracks and running trains local.
mark1447 Posted February 6, 2010 #14 Posted February 6, 2010 Now who's the noob? Lol, your not a noob dude. Even if your new to this. I didnt know what the hell is this before(Last Plan 4), but now i do.. Read my above post, cuz i answered what it is

Abba Posted February 7, 2010 #18 Posted February 7, 2010 Are express trains running express or local this weekend?
LRG Posted February 7, 2010 Author #19 Posted February 7, 2010 Are express trains running express or local this weekend? It depends on the borough. In some cases, a train may go express in one direction and local in the other.
Grand Concourse Posted February 7, 2010 #20 Posted February 7, 2010 Generally I would say more or less everything should be running local. But what is the case with the D on 6th Av? Are they "scraping the walls" as well?
LRG Posted February 7, 2010 Author #21 Posted February 7, 2010 Generally I would say more or less everything should be running local. But what is the case with the D on 6th Av? Are they "scraping the walls" as well? trains run local along Sixth Avenue, that I know.
Grand Concourse Posted February 7, 2010 #22 Posted February 7, 2010 Oh ok, so it probably has to switch somewhere around 34th st then.
LRG Posted February 7, 2010 Author #23 Posted February 7, 2010 Oh ok, so it probably has to switch somewhere around 34th st then. Yep, pretty much so.
Far Rock Depot Posted February 7, 2010 #24 Posted February 7, 2010 I thought that too, but it means that all trains(Except for some, non-revenue) are being stored underground on the Express tracks, service ends for some lines, most trains go local on its mainline, shuttle extended to 149th st, 42nd St runs all night, Rockaway extended to Euclid, dunno about Lefferts/Franklin GENERAL ORDERS(Service Detours/construction) are canceled to add! this is for heavy snow storms days(s) btw what are the other plans and meanings, i forgot the (S)Rock Pk has yet to see euclid at all this winter. Trust me on that. i ride the A every weekend. to and from work. and during snow storms. maybe there's some exceptions or recent updates made?
Grand Concourse Posted February 7, 2010 #25 Posted February 7, 2010 Does the Rock Pk S go to Howard Beach late at night?
