Queens Surface Posted October 20, 2010 Share #729 Posted October 20, 2010 Go get this one, you MUST name the company that owned this property. The area seems to be covered in pipes & the most major pipe company around the SBK track area in Brooklyn, now abandoned. After doing a crapload of research over ownership over the land now is the Davidson Group. So my guess is the Davidson Pipe Co. and T&A Valve, which has been around for over 100 years. Looks like the TA got their pipes and valves from their as well. http://www.davidsonpipe.com/index.asp

There was no tactile strip on the edge of the platform back in 1989. From 1995, photo by David Pirmann:
SubwayGuy Posted October 21, 2010 Share #742 Posted October 21, 2010 There is no way that picture is from 1989 seeing as that station did not get the renovation to give it its modern apperance until much later. Much of the Lexington Avenue line underwent EXTENSIVE rehabilitation in the 1990's. Including Wall St, Brooklyn Bridge, Union Square, and 59th Streets. There may have been others, I don't remember but those were the big jobs.
