LRG Posted December 22, 2010 Share #2 Posted December 22, 2010 WTF is wrong with the MTA??? Get this rainbow flag crap off the maps! The Staten Island bus map reflects the following changes: the S55 and S56 have been rerouted from Seguine Avenue onto Bayview Avenue due to road construction. In addition, a stop has been added for the S91 and S92 Limiteds at Eddy Street and Victory Boulevard.
EE Broadway Local Posted December 22, 2010 Share #3 Posted December 22, 2010 In addition to the rainbow flag, a large, M (Manhattan), Q (Queens), S (Staten Island), and N (Nassau)!
Amtrak7 Posted December 22, 2010 Share #4 Posted December 22, 2010 In addition to the rainbow flag, a large, M (Manhattan), Q (Queens), S (Staten Island), and N (Nassau)! It's a nicer touch compared to the skewed NYC with the big arrow, but that looks weird! The other ones look good.
LRG Posted December 22, 2010 Share #5 Posted December 22, 2010 It's a nicer touch compared to the skewed NYC with the big arrow, but that looks weird! The other ones look good. Do NOT get me started!!!

But i do see your point, i would like the old style back. I notice the is making ads and everything new with white background and .info logo. Plus "TrainTalk" "SubTalk" and "BusTalk" being retired. LRG Posted December 22, 2010 Share #7 Posted December 22, 2010 What, you against the Rainbow which means LGBT? Not causing a problem, but asking. No, not really. It just doesn't look right on the maps, that's all. But i do see your point, i would like the old style back. Bingo! I notice the is making ads and everything new with white background and .info logo. Plus "TrainTalk" "SubTalk" and "BusTalk" being retired. Yup, I first witnessed it at Fourth Avenue on the and . They're going all out with changes, map redesigns, poster redesigns, everything.
Amtrak7 Posted December 22, 2010 Share #8 Posted December 22, 2010 They're going all out with changes, map redesigns, poster redesigns, everything. They're trying to make things look "simpler" and eliminate unnecessary stuff. Probably to improve the public image that NYCT is "confusing". mark1447 Posted December 22, 2010 Author Share #11 Posted December 22, 2010 They're trying to make things look "simpler" and eliminate unnecessary stuff. Probably to improve the public image that NYCT is "confusing". But there was nothing confusing about the old maps. The people that always get confused, those are the dumb ones, who don't read but wait for someone to tell there asses. It's like when a train comes in, most people don't look at the signs and ask for example "Is this the train?" .. Duh, look at the sign.. Then the new G/O lists.. i bet a lot of them don't even look at the new G/Os ether.. Not even online. I saw a post on Facebook of a woman saying shes happy that the is finally providing updates on service changes on FB.. Like wow, how slow are you lady.. Ever heard of .INFO , or reading the damn G/Os listed in the platforms.

MattTrain Posted December 22, 2010 Share #16 Posted December 22, 2010 I totally agree with LRG on the new bus map covers, the presentations are just poor, and the same goes with how the Subway/Railroad Map is presented as well.

Cait Sith Posted December 22, 2010 Share #22 Posted December 22, 2010 I totally agree with LRG on the new bus map covers, the presentations are just poor, and the same goes with how the Subway/Railroad Map is presented as well. However, these maps were not made to "wow" people, if that was the case, they would've planted a much more better design and actually sell the maps for like a quarter or something. No one really checks bus maps that often, especially tourists. Personally, I dont give a f*ck about the cover or whatever for these maps, its the geographical design that matters and the MTA still got some areas wrong, screw the map cover and all that useless bs.
