Roadcruiser1 Posted December 25, 2010 Share #16 Posted December 25, 2010 Have anyone heard anything about what the is going to do with the last few R110A's, and R110B's. I think they should just get rid of almost all of them except one or two of them for the museum. I also find it pretty weird when commuters on the videos mentioned that they were new technology, and wanted on every line. Little did they know that it was only an new technology experimental train, and wasn't built to be a long use subway car. They were retired only after 7 years. INDman Posted December 25, 2010 Share #17 Posted December 25, 2010 Only two R110A cars, A and B car will be saved. As for the R110B, other then the two cars at the fire school and the one car at the TA learning center, just one A car will be saved. The rest will be scraped. Roadcruiser1 Posted December 25, 2010 Share #23 Posted December 25, 2010 I know that the chance of the R110A returning to service is extremely slim, and I do find it extremely disappointing. Hopefully some future rail car building company that would build a future subway car for the would look back, and rebuild similar looking cars. I have faith that Westinghouse would try to build the R68's replacement, and it would look something like the R110B.
