R1103 Posted March 8, 2011 Share #3 Posted March 8, 2011 Doubtful. The 42nd St. Shuttle can't hold a 5 car (R142's are 5car sets) set, other then one or two tracks at Grand Central... Then again, you never know .

rr4567 Posted March 9, 2011 Share #11 Posted March 9, 2011 It would probably say This is a Times Square bound Shuttle train. The next And Last Stop is Times Square-42 Street." stands for shuttle, or at least I think it does  I can tell you exactly what it says. "This is the last stop on the train. Everyone please leave the train. Thank you for riding with MTA NYC Transit" In other words....it doesn't work. Well at least now it doesn't. On the R142s. Not sure about the 142As. It just loops to that announcement. And as a follow up, I found an audio tidbit from when it actually worked. It went like this: "This is a Grand Central bound Shuttle, the next and last stop is Grand Central - 42nd Street"
