Due to three consecutive incidents on the Lexington Av Line (4)(5)(6)<6>, Bowling Green, City Hall, and 125 St are all out of power. Run an (S) on the Lexington if you want to. Just reroute away.

Assuming that you mean that no trains can pass or enter those stations:

(2) some trains run local in Manhattan

(4) 96 St - Grand Central-42 St, local; single-track shuttle runs 96 St - 116 St; single track shuttle runs Grand Central-42 St - 14 St-Union Sq (local)

(5) runs via 7 Av Express

(6) Pelham Bay Park - 3 Av/138 St

(N) runs via tunnel to provide transfer to (2)(3)(5) at Court St

The Chambers Street station on the 123 is jammed in the position that local trains connect to the express tracks becaus of a 2 train using it. This is only the local track southbound. Also, the Montaugue street tunnel is flooded Brooklyn Bound, and the signal southbound at Canal Street is jammed making all trains reach the upper level of canal. Reroute the N Q R trains so that they reach their terminates without splitting it into two sections

The express tracks are closed at 72 St 1/2/3 and 72 St B/C.

Affected: A/D/2/3

Here goes:

(A) and (D) run local: (A) 207-Canal Street, (D) 145th to 59th Street-Columbus Circle before resuming normal route.

(B) and (C) terminate at 59th Street-Columbus Circle: (B) runs normal route otherwise, (C) is express 59th-CC to Canal Street.

(1) runs normal

(2) runs local 96th-Chambers Street

(3) runs New Lots Avenue to 42nd-Times Square ONLY (normal route).

(3) shuttle runs 96th-148th Street-Lenox Terminal

All lines run normally in Brooklyn.

(A) runs between Euclid Av and 207th St. Shuttle trains from Far Rockaway and Lefferts Blvd run up to 80th St (EB track)

(B) runs between 145th St/Bedford Park Blvd and 2 Av, runs local between 34th St and 2 Av

(D) runs between W 4 St and Norwood

(F) runs between Church Av and 179th St, shuttle train runs between Ditmas Av (NB track) and Coney Island

(G) cut back to Smith-9th St, extended to 71st Av, (E) runs local in Queens

(M) rerouted to Coney Island via Nassau St and West End

(Q) terminates at 57th St, (R) rerouted to Astoria

Other lines unaffected

New task: One side of the Manhattan Bridge is to be shut-down full-time, just like over much of the past 30 years. Feel free to choose from the Broadway side or the 6th Av side being closed, and to include a plan of a bridge shutdown once SAS opens. Astoria must retain the same level of service it has currently.

Problems:

1. The Rockaway line was built as part of the Long Island Railroad

2. The (F) train can't use the 63 St tunnel, which was built by the MTA

3. The (E) and (J)(Z) lines can't use the Archer Av line, which was built by the MTA

4. The (5) train can't use the Dyre Av line, which was built by the New York Boston and Manhattan Railroad company

Hmm i wanna try this one,

(Q) From CI to Astoria via Whitehall Street all times [Rush Hours - Additional Q trains Originate at Whitehall street and Run local via Broadway to fix the gap left by the N]

(N) From CI to 36 Street via Express from 59 street all times - using the switch on the express track to turn around. (A new Timetable has to be created for the N so that it can sync in with the D and minimize switching delays if trains are on schedule.

(R) From 95 ST to Forest Hills all times Except Late Nights [Late nights - Trains Run from 95 Street to Queens Plaza utilizing the switch before Queens plaza in the Tunnel connecting to the 60 st tunnel.] [Morning Rush hours - Select R trains run from CI to 57-7ave via Sea Beach/4 Av LCL - Whitehall street Broadway LCL]

After opening of SAS Phase 1:

(Q) runs from CI to 96 Street Broadway Exp via Whitehall Street

(R) From Bay Ridge -95 Street to Astoria-Ditmars via Whitehall St Broadway Local.

(Rush Hours - To meet the need of Astoria - a switch is created slightly past canal street towards the bridge so that canal street [bridge tracks] Can be used as a terminal (since the bridge is closed full time) . After the Switch is created (N) Trains Resume service from the new terminal at canal street and run to Astoria via Broadway express to help the (R) ).

(N) Shuttle CI to 36 st all times. [Also during rush hours Some (N) trains originate at Canal Street and run to Astoria via Broadway express].

(G) Extended to Forest Hills 71 AV - All Times (to supplement Loss of the R) Except Late Nights [Late Nights - Cut back to Court Square]

(B)(D)(F)(M) Service unaffected.

Good point. Those are all easily rectified, though. [E] to 179th, [J] [Z] to 121st St, [F] via 53rd St and the [5] runs to 241st St. And the entire Rockaways will be left with out service. At least there's the Q52.

And the Q53, too...

Lemme try both.....

Broadway Lines:

(N) Rerouted via Whitehall Street.

(Q) Rerouted via 6th Avenue Express. Late nights-via 6th Avenue Local.

Broadway Lines+SAS:

(N) Rerouted via Whitehall Street.

(Q) Rerouted via 6th Avenue Express, to Upper West Side-96 Street, all times.

Please expect some delays on the (B)(D)(Q) lines.

6th Avenue Lines:

(B) Runs in two sections:

  • Between Brighton Beach, Brooklyn and Whitehall Street, Manhattan, via the (R).

  • Between Lower East Side-2nd Avenue, Manhattan and Norwood-205 Street, via the (D).

(D) Rerouted via Broadway Express, to 57 Street-7 Avenue.

6th Avenue Lines+SAS:

(B) Runs in two sections:

  • Between Brighton Beach, Brooklyn and Whitehall Street, Manhattan, via the (R).

  • Between Lower East Side-2nd Avenue, Manhattan and Norwood-205 Street, via the (D).

(D) Rerouted via Broadway Express and 2nd Avenue Local, to Upper East Side-96 Street. (Since it can't terminate at 57 Street...)

Please expect delays on the (D)(N)(Q)(T) lines.

Just in case a Second Avenue Line runs via bridge (VERY unlikely...),

(SAS) Rerouted via the (T) to Hanover Square.

Oh, and all of the service changes are at DIFFERENT times, not at the same time, that would be catastrophic, that just gave me an idea for a problem.

I hope nobody starts up a fight because I included the SAS detour.....

NEXT:

Here's my idea. The Manhattan Bridge is shut down for some reason.....reroute the (B)(D)(N)(Q), and any other lines you need to, and also, include another plan when the SAS opens, like the previous problem. I'm pretty sure that this problem was already posted, but what the heck. Reroute away....

NEXT, peeps:

While 6 Av FASTRACK is in effect, the entire 53 St line becomes unusable.

(A) Unaffected - runs as planed

(D) Unaffected - runs as planed

(E) via Broadway Local /59 street / to Whitehall Street

(F) via Sea Beach Express / Broadway Express / 63 St

(Q) Extended to Astoria Ditmars / Broadway Express

Scenario:

A (D) train is stuck on the Manhattan Bridge Bypass tracks and the Montague street tracks are frozen to only connect to the (J)(Z). Reroute all trains, and please be realistic. Do not shorten car length or extend them. Please reroute now

Assuming you mean that BOTH of the DeKalb Av bypass tracks are unusable:

(B) Suspended (or trains can run via Culver to CIY)

(D) runs local in Brooklyn; stops at DeKalb Av

(N) Coney Island - Atlantic Av

(R) runs in two sections; Bay Ridge-95 St - Court St, Whitehall St - Forest Hills-71 Av

You'll notice that I did NOT extend the (J) to South Brooklyn here. I did this because most people in that area will be confused when they see a (J); they likely won't get on it. But they'll feel comfortable taking the (R) to Court St or Jay St-Metrotech for the (2)(3)(A)(C)(F) or switching to a (D) or (Q) train at Atlantic Av.

I shall gladly reroute.

Pre-SAS

(B) to Grand Street

(D) to CI via (F) Culver EXP

(F)(M) unaffected

(N)(Q) via Whitehall

Post SAS

6th Avenue would stay the same.

The (R) would run to Astoria, and the (G) would run on QBL to replace it.
