Shortline Bus Posted July 28, 2011 Share #1080 Posted July 28, 2011 Oh that nice. No offense but Luis is another fan of model type singers. Never could explain how Britney or J Lo has been so popular the last 15 years or so. J Lo is much better as an actress than a singer imo. So i pass on almost all of the current 'model' type singers from Britney, Beyonce, Rhianna, J-Lo, etc. that has controlled 'pop music' in last 10-12 years. Give me Teena Marie, Anita Baker, Sade, Olivia Newton John and other 80's era female singers any day. All were cute and yet all actually could sing.
Shortline Bus Posted July 28, 2011 Share #1081 Posted July 28, 2011 Oh yes. Love hearing this. Here "Head to Toe' by Lisa Lisa (aka Lisa Veldez)and Cult Jam. A #1 smash from summer of 1987. Man, those late '80's teen girl pop stars like Lisa Lisa, Tiffany and Debbie Gibson were all cute and all could sing lol.

Shortline Bus Posted July 30, 2011 Share #1084 Posted July 30, 2011 Since it's Friday Night time for a couple of jammin old school songs. "Automatic" by Pointer Sisters "Manic" ( from the '80's blockbuster soundtrack "Flashdance' movie soundtrack) by Micheal Sembello FYI. Most of you guys knows, Jennifer Beals who most of you was the star in the recent Showtime TV series "The L Word" was the star of this surprise blockbuster hit as a then unknown young woman. Ms. Beals even approaching 50 years of age is a babe. "All Night Long" Lionel Ricthie (perhaps his most famous and signature song of his carrer)A #1 worldwide smash from 1983. Enjoy guys.

Shortline Bus Posted July 31, 2011 Share #1088 Posted July 31, 2011 Could not find the classic and landmark music video. However here a great song mixing it in jazz/dance/funk and then new elements of hip-hop/rap and techno. A staple in MTV's early days of the 1980's. Here the classic "rock it' by Jazz Legends Herbie Hancock. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D27trVdqmB0

Shortline Bus Posted August 7, 2011 Share #1097 Posted August 7, 2011 Here song showing ethnic pride. It's a single my sister used to love listening to as a kid in the early 1970's. This clip is a very early version of a music video. From the Sonnny Bono/Cher' show here "Half Breed.' Cher story of being raised in a multi cultral home. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uxoWto09Oyg Other is her biggest hit of her carrer the #1 smash from 1999 "Believe.' FYI.
