FRACertifyMotormen Posted February 21, 2014 Share #1 Posted February 21, 2014 The DOT is forced to reconstruct the Bronx River Parkway that goes over the E.180 Street/Unionport complex due to the severe weather damage. Expect major disruptions to 2 and 5 service as a result, with possible long term closures.

N4 Via Merrick Rd Posted February 21, 2014 Share #3 Posted February 21, 2014 It's possible. That snow screwed up the streets. But yes is there a source to back this up.
BrooklynIRT Posted February 21, 2014 Share #4 Posted February 21, 2014 The DOT is forced to reconstruct the Bronx River Parkway that goes over the E.180 Street/Unionport complex due to the severe weather damage. Expect major disruptions to 2 and 5 service as a result, with possible long term closures. How long will this reconstruction occur, and when will it begin? Also, during which hours will it occur? Weekdays and weekends, or just weekdays or just weekends? Daytime hours, overnight hours, or both?
w8Hou Posted February 21, 2014 Share #5 Posted February 21, 2014 Is there any source to this? Drive on the parkway and see the damage that the DOT is slow to fix the potholes. Its very very bad shape.
peacemak3r Posted February 21, 2014 Share #6 Posted February 21, 2014 Considering his title as a transit worker, I'm assuming the source is reliable. And proof of poor road conditions warranting repair...just go look at any heavily used roads right now and see what type of war zones you see. Belt Parkway right now is looking like a Battlefield 4 type of scenario.
RTOMan Posted February 21, 2014 Share #7 Posted February 21, 2014 The Bronx river parkway is a nightmare southbound right over those two yards.. They had to repave the whole northbound side. I guess it did not help much. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Kamen Rider Posted February 22, 2014 Share #8 Posted February 22, 2014 It's doesn't hurt to want to be sure the information is right. My boss sent me out one day to a store on a guard shift and told me the address they needed me at. I asked her three times if she was sure the address was correct. She said yes and was sill wrong. She gave me the store number and though it was the street address.
46Dover Posted February 22, 2014 Share #9 Posted February 22, 2014 With the deterioration of those streets, I'm basically scared at the thought of sinkholes
