Priincenene Posted March 7, 2014 Share #1 Posted March 7, 2014 I have no photo or video but I was recently riding a Queens bound F train and noticed that the door chime was giving a high pitched noise the time length as a regular chime. It was an R46. I don't have the car number but if anyone knows about it then post here! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
QM1to6Ave Posted March 7, 2014 Share #2 Posted March 7, 2014 This is not particularly uncommon. Happens in the R as we'll fairly frequently.
bobtehpanda Posted March 7, 2014 Share #3 Posted March 7, 2014 R46 door chimes in general are just really screwy.
ScreechyFlange Posted March 7, 2014 Share #4 Posted March 7, 2014 Was it really necessary to create a thread on this?
Lance Posted March 7, 2014 Share #5 Posted March 7, 2014 Train's old, chime's old. It's not exactly breaking news.
E For Erica Posted March 9, 2014 Share #6 Posted March 9, 2014 Train's old, chime's old. It's not exactly breaking news. The door chimes were always like that even when I was little.
Brighton Express Posted March 9, 2014 Share #7 Posted March 9, 2014 Not surprised. I have seen a few 68s with this problem.

B35 via Church Posted March 10, 2014 Share #10 Posted March 10, 2014 Agree with every single reply up until this point.... Let's face it, the R46 has been around since what, the 70's.... Yeah, they rebuilt some in the late 80's, but quite frankly I'd be more surprised that the chimes are even working at all, let alone a disruption with the chime itself..... MTA Dude Posted June 7, 2014 Share #11 Posted June 7, 2014 Not new or surprised. An R68 train chime screwed up and it had this really weird up and down sound. And an R62a train I was on had a screwed up chime. It was low pitch, then high pitch.
