MTA solves one problem (having two Bx15 local buses scheduled to leave Fordham at the same time) and creates another (15 and 20 minute gaps in local service northbound)

Looks like the Bx15 doesn't need SBS to have infrequent local service while the LTD is running.

Based out of the depot on Bx15... I would agree Bx15 doesn't need SBS ( Select Bus Service ).. For the main depot Bx15 that based out of West Farms Depot... West Farms Depot does not have not enough articulated buses.... They would need more articulated buses..... if Bx15 ever were to be based out of Gun Hill Depot that good.. It easy Bx15 to become Select Bus Service.... So I would leave Bx15 to be as Limited line..

The route will never go to Gun Hill which is on the east side of the Bronx.... That doesn't even make any sense. Not only that, but if they wanted to turn the line into an SBS route it wont be that hard at all.... They dont really need anymore buses.... Not only that, but it has been said that the Bx19 is to possibly be split with Hale depot, so that would free up additional artics right there.

I could see a Bx55 out of Gun Hill because you'd be able to interline it with the Bx39 (which already is a GH route), and you could probably run short-turned Bx28s and Bx30s out to the Gun Hill Rd (2)(5) station and then turn them into Bx39s and Bx55s on arrival there. The only GH lines that you could interline the Bx15 with would be short-turned Bx12s (of which I doubt there are much of any; that route is packed from one end to the other) or Bx28s and 34s (which would be messy and complicated as all hell and leave both the 15s and the 28s prone to severe delays). If you wanted the Bx15 out of a non-WF depot then you could run the LTD service out of MCH or 126 St and run local service out of KB (the deadhead wouldn't be great on that end but it would probably be not much worse than the WF deadhead).

The only reason that the MTA got rid of the Bx55 Limited is that there were not enough local stops along 3rd Av for the Bx15. Had they made that decision of adding more Bx15 local stops along 3rd Av before the June 2010 service cuts, then the Bx55 Limited would still be active by running 7 days a week between Fordham Plaza, Bronx and Harlem, Manhattan with some buses going to Williamsbridge during the weekdays until June 2013 when the Bx41 +SBS came into reality. What they also should've done was to short-turn the Bx15 service at Mott Haven all day except late nights, re-swap the northern terminals of the Bx39 and Bx41 back to its original pre-June 2010 status, and maybe, just maybe, restructure the Bx19 line to have both local and Limited-Stop Service with the local Bx19 short-turning at Malcolm X Blvd-Lenox Av, and the Bx19 Limited running the full route with limited stops between the New York Botanical Garden in The Bronx and Malcolm X Blvd-Lenox Av, with local stops afterwards to the Riverbank State Park in Manhattan. Now THAT'S what could've been best for business.
