That means right now, there are that many people ahead of you before you’re considered. Not that far away. I was around the cert #900’s last year and now I’m in the 50’s and got the email. You’ll hit those numbers soon.

Looks like I’m calling out.. think we’ll be in by March?

Very likely

So like another 6 months to a year?

I would probably say the end of this year depending on how many more vacancies they need. Seems like this list may be moving faster with the way things are looking. If they need this 250 headcount they’ll have to go through the mid 1500’s to make that if I’m doing the math right. Hopefully someone with a list number around that range can chime in

I got called for an interview for LIRR track worker also. Waiting to see if they call me also. Which one is better?

Have you heard from nyc transit yet?

lirr does Long Island mean obviously. Depends where you want to live and work.  I like the idea of the fresh air if they even have that luxury

I haven’t heard from nyc transit yet. But I’m 1185 on list I think. That’s my certification sequence number. I live in L.I. already so to me it doesn’t matter I just want a good job with good benefits and a pension.

Ok so it’s reasonable to say you are further down the list. Right now I’d say people getting called have a low 1000s list  and that’s for the drug test.

If they are in the 1000s, I’m really close then bc I’m 1185 on certification sequence number.

Also what’s the difference between nyc transit and LIRR? Is there much of a difference?

LIRR does interviews from what I understand. NYCT does not for this title. LIRR has a good union but NYCT has local 100. Does LIRR allow Track Workers to take promo exams? NYCT does allow Track Workers to promote to multiple titles like Train Operator, Power Distribution or Maintenance Supervisor all having civil service protections while doing so.. without an interview. Does LIRR allow that? If not then I’d stick with NYCT for sure

What is the difference between pay? Does the nyc transit let you ride the subways and LIRR for free? Does the nyc transit have a pension?

Really. Sounds pretty good. What does a track worker start at as a track worker? Sorry for all the questions. But this is helping me tremendously.

I believe the email mentioned something about vaccination card. Idk about how far along you are in that process though. Call and ask. Technically in the past fully vaccinated meant 2 weeks after last dose.

If you scroll over next to Track Worker, it says cert (Cert Seq No). That's the placement you want to look at. List numbers are important but it means nothing if you were hired, disqualified or were taken off for not responding which makes the cert numbers important. Those people won't be on the recertification. DCAS in this situation just lets the agency know who was restored and who must not get contacted anymore after the agency tells DCAS. It's kind of confusing at first but its a good indicator of whats going on. List number 16 is cert #1. They were taken off of the list for not responding to NYCT so the agency told DCAS. Person contacted DCAS, got restored and now DCAS recertified and they must be the first to be considered because they have the lowest list number in the recertification and so on. You can basically see who got restored by looking at any list number under like the 900's who now wants to get on.

Ok so do know what it means when it says the certification is set to expire I notice that next to my name I think it said March 1 2022.

I’m not at that stage yet but at 180 they said they’ll send out emails for the medical.

The 1st time contacted for pre employment was via phone call , text and email. They contacted thru text and email for drug screening. They only emailed for medical. After medical if you pass, they give you your start date, first day of class.
