I took "between Livingston Street and Sands Street" to mean something else (notably, the fact that the route hasn't touched Livingston Street at all since it entered dormancy).
B35 via Church Posted June 15, 2019 Share #30 Posted June 15, 2019 (edited) It's come to the point where whenever I see a @Union Tpke post, I know I got a lot of scrolling ahead of me Usually that's not a good thing, but this is an exception - you've been putting in some wherrkk (work) on here lately with these screens(hots)... If I haven't said it before, thanks for all the useful info, fam.... It's appreciated. I'm not one of these reading rainbow, always got my nose in a book type of people, but as a bus enthusiast (and somewhat of a historian), that is a book I would love to get my hands on...... BM5 via Woodhaven Posted June 16, 2019 Share #32 Posted June 16, 2019 (edited) Some of the comparisons in headway between then and now are insane, particularly in Manhattan. The M10 ran every 5 minutes during the evening back in 1995, which is 300% more service than what is provided currently (24 years later). The M27/M50 combined portion ran every 2 minutes during the rush hour, which is 750% more service than today. Alright, but that's not why I replied in that manner though.... This hasn't opened my eyes to the cuts/service changes back in '95; hell, I've even discussed some, if not most of them in some form or fashion on here in the past..... I just didn't (bother to) think that there was an actual/physical book out there that detailed them as in-depth as I'm seeing here (which is what I was showing appreciation for).... Quite sure that there are some on here that know what I think of the creation of the B82 & my defiance about the old B50 having been tinkered with, since I do go in ad nauseum with that..... Now of course, 20 something years later after the creation of the thing, I get to see the very service type that I don't care for (SBS) implemented on that route..... Double whammy. Anyway, being completely honest, there were by far more of those cuts I felt should've happened when they did then, than the system-wide cuts that were made a decade and a half later.....
78 via Stew Leonards Posted June 16, 2019 Share #36 Posted June 16, 2019 the MTA world looked so different in 1995. I think most of these changes were for the worse.

They were in depth than, or at least, more of the analysis was available to the public in documents, but it was hard to get at (it wasn't online yet).
