* B44 SBS.

What you're saying there in bold, is one of the reasons why I believe they're using the B44+ & its resources as a substitute for the B4...

More important than losing Coney Island Hospital service is Beach Haven losing all bus service. That was a major reason for creating the B4 there in the first place.

Then it's a shame that even if they decide not to reroute the B4, people there will still have inadequate service since the B4 has horrid headways.

Is the B15/B55 proposal really that big of an issue? What percentage of B15 rides to JFK are one seat rides?

I like several proposals. But I had them in my proposal, only better. I like the B16 extended, but it needs to go to E 98 St, not Utica Ave. The B55 needs to use Linden non-stop instead of using slow New Lots Avenue.

Not sure that will make a difference, Linden Blvd is not fast by any means, due to “traffic calming” measures, traffic gets stopped at every signal.

But Linden lacks the connection to the (3) and (L), though.

That as well.

I don’t see how the percentage of one seat B15 riders to JFK matters. It’s the absolute number that is important. If it’s say 3,000, that’s 3,000 people inconvenienced daily. It doesn’t matter if that’s 10 percent or 20 percent B15 passengers.

As for the damage done to Linden Blvd buy purposely screwing up the lights as DOT has done elsewhere to slow traffic, then complain about congestion and blaming the drivers, they need to undo that if a bus is out on Linden. They even should undo it without a bus.

Should the B55 be extended to 9th Avenue or 4th Avenue/36th Street then? There is very low ridership at 1st Avenue and I don't think the B35 and B55 both need to be there.

Oh, I'm not making this about where the proposed B55 should terminate on its western end, to have everything all be well with it... My sentiment is that proposed B55, period, shouldn't come to fruition....

It's a terrible tradeoff to extend B35 locals to Sunset Park to have the skip-stop service along Church extended way out to JFK (even if it means curtailing coverage west of McDonald)..... That is going to f*** up the LTD/local dynamic along Church more than what's going on currently with the B35, with how delayed buses are on a daily basis.... I shouldn't be waiting for a dollar cab at Nostrand around 5pm on a weekday afternoon & seeing the countdown clock for a B35 local read a whopping 22 minutes, with the corresponding LTD reading 16..... Now I'm not implicating that's normal, but my point with that is those type of waits will be more closer to a norm, have both service types along Church get altered to the tune that's being proposed.....

Which of these swaps are worse, the 49/68 or 48/69 or equal?

I'd say the B49/B68 swap and it's not all that close...

What makes you say that one is the worser one? I originally thought the B48/B69 swap was worse because the swap would have a larger change on both routes compared to the B49/B68 change.

Have they really destroyed service on the B35 that badly? I remember when you never waited more than 10 minutes for a B35 before midnight. Usually a bus was there in five before they started Limiteds. And they wonder why ruders switched to dollar cabs and vans? The MTA intentionally caused that so they could run less bus service.

What did you think of the B1/64 swap back in 2010?

But in Queens don’t forget, every city councilperson sent a joint letter opposing the changes. That didn’t happen in Brooklyn.

…….. Just yet

I hope the Brooklyn delegation gets it right to send letters to the MTA to re-do the design. AT WORSE: B49/68 swap is completely horrible even though there’s no depot swap. Also, B48/69 swap also horrible.  The talked about B15/B55 swap. Also, no crosstown Ridgewood/Maspeth to Downtown Brooklyn SBS that was widely talked about.

So far only a few very polite letters have been sent. After what happened with the Coney Island Casino the city was pushing, but every person who attended opposed it, no elected official wants any more town halls.

Gotchu.

I think the other mess is with the B2. Why take away Marine Park/Midwood/Kings Plaza bus service. In all fairness by taking away that layer of service you lose the B31 interline
