Hanging out with the 4

Recommended Posts

I am hanging out with the (4) train. I also checked out the R142A cars on that line too. It's just R142 and R142As here.

nice photos

Thanks a lot, I'm happy you enjoyed them.

Nice pics man, when were you at BPB? That's the station I use EVERYDAY!

You have that right, Henry. That is the Bedford Park Boulevard Station, on the (4). I wanted to check out the subway yard that holds the (4) and (D) trains. It is not really a big yard though. Bedford Park Boulevard is great for taking photos, especially with how frequent the (4) is.

Yeah, I like to stand on the southbound platform. At the north end, there is an unhindered view of the street and Concourse Yard. Good shots for Bee Lines, NYCT buses and the yard. I saw a R42 from Jamaica today at the yard, its number was 46XX. It had a sticker, so I knew it was damned.

Great shots! They are all good-looking! ;)

Thank you very much, I try my best to make each image a good one.

Nice pix from the scenic (4) Line, :)!

Thanks, the (4) is my favorite line up there, nice views of the subway yard, other than the (1)

Nice pictures. I see you reduced the blurriness in the pictures.

Thank you, blurriness is not such a problem in daylight. The more light, the better.

Nice shots of the (4) line.

Thanks a lot, the (4) is my favorite numbered line.

maybe jamiaca yard is preparing to reefed? or scrapped the R42

#46** series. that it was damaged ?

R42 had come to era ( that it time to retire out service )

people will remember that r42 was known as best car

than r38. R42 was put in to service 50 years?  :)

Wonderful shot of the R-142 and R-142A/S (4)

Thank you, the (4) is just R-142 and R-142A now. No R-62 cars have been spotted on the (4) lately. As a matter of fact, I did ride an R-142S that day on the (4), car number was 7744. I think the R142S which is no different from the R142A are numbered 7731-7810. Another R142A came about after the train I rode on left.

This topic is regarding the (4) line and the cars it uses. R42 and R38 I won't discuss here since they're not IRT cars.

DOB2RTO said that they are no longer R-62's on the (4)....last time I rode a R-62 on the (4) was December 25th, 2008 around a lil after 12AM!

Wow, that must have been a while since you rode those R62 on the (4). I like the (4)'s fleet right now, the R-142A/S on them are the best!

Great Job! Though I really miss the R62s on the 4.

Thank you, I miss the R-62 on the (4) as well, but now we can enjoy the R-142 and R-142A cars even more.

I'm sorry. What? This has nothing at all, in any possible way, to do with this thread. Besides that, I have no idea what your point is.

Thanks, man, I know R42 and R38 cars can't run on the (4), they're too wide. Anyways the (4) fleet is the most diverse in the IRT.

Thanks, Mark1447, Jerome Avenue is the only scenic portion of the (4) line. I'd prefer that the (4) be extended to New Lots Avenue in Brooklyn with the (3) for another scenic view from the (4).

Wrong thread. I know you are trying to talk about his Concourse Yard photos, but this is the wrong thread.
