  2. Took the Q58 Limited Today I wish I got on the local since the OP barely went past 30 and all the 58 and 59 buses were passing in front of us. Q58 buses are so infrequent and bunch up a lot. 3 58 local passed us and 2 59 busses
  3. The 5A operated from Rocky Point to Middle Island 100 riders per week the most
  4. http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en&gl=us&ptab=2&ie=UTF8&oe=UTF8&msa=19&msid=204750700533050976010.0004bed26476b7166e04e&authuser=0 Current Suffolk Transit Map. I'll show you guys my proposed bus map later
  5. Q54: It would cut through Glendale The LTD Q33: It would go to Woodside First then Down the Q18 to Maspeth. IMO it might help a bit with access to LGA, and 74 street would be where you change buses from Q33 to Q18 and Vice Versa Q18/Q47: The only real time I see 5-6 people on a Bus to LGA coming from Glendale and Vice-Versa is Rush Hours Many People get off at Roosevelt Avenue and then another group of people come on in. Uusally the people that stay Past 74 street get on 1-2 stops before 74 street and vice versa. The Q47 would operate as it's current shape rush hours, other times, people would have to use the Q18,which wouldn't affect people since they can either get a paper transfer or Just take the Q18, since many people get off at Jackson Heights. The Current Q18 riders have options to Transfer to the Q33 to Maspeth at 74 street as well or at 69 street and Garfield Avenue. The Q33 would connect to the 58/59, which many people take, which might increase boost to LGA Airport and the Q33 overall. If the Q33 current operated on 80 street, It probably would,ve gone much better. This route would only be extended to Maspeth, not Manhattan. But, it might boost ridership up on the Q18. Q11/Q21: Then might as well come from Corona and replace Q38 Q88: I like the idea of a connector from Middle Village to Springfield Garderns. Might be an hour and 15 minutes in length with the truncatation and the extention. Some 75 service would be restored. The MTA should've truncated the 88 years ago. With It's new Middle Village Proposal Terminal The Route can deadhead from Fresh Pond Depot and QV, Maybe 50/50, and send the Q58 to Casey Stengel. Not a bad idea though with the 88. Plus, it would help me out as the stinken 38 would not show up 70 minutes late each time
  6. Q67: In any case it can divert onto the Q38 route from Eliot Avenue/69 Street, use Fresh Pond Road, and still serve both 63 Drive and LIC I never said that the Q67 would run from the Station to 63 Drive. I said that It would run regular routing until 69 street and Juniper Valley, Then use the 38 routing meanwhile bypassing the station. In that case then, Q67 could loop Middle Village sort of Q52: The Q11/21 also can work as well probably, since it's almost the same headways
  7. I want to bring out some proposals Maspeth/ Glendale -Q33 extention -Q47 reduction -Q18 extention and realignment -Q54 Limited Stop service -Q18/Q47 Extention to Myrtle Avenue Q33 Extention The Q33 would be extended along Roosevelt Avenue and 39 Avenue , then, in both directions, buses would travel the entire Q18 route to Grand Avenue, Middays, nights, and weekends starting from 58 street/ 39 Avenue Glendale Q54 Limited Stop Service Is is noticed, that over the years, Q54 has steadily risen over the years, sometimes with busses flagging people. In an effort to save commutors time, Q54 buses will have a Limited Stop pattern. This limited stop Pattern would bypass the Glendale Area, Making one the Woodhaven Blvd Stops and the 80 street/Metropolitan Stops in Glendale Proposed Stops Jamaica 170 Street JamaicaAvenue & Queens Blvd Metropolitan Avenue & Lefferts Blvd Metropolitan Avenue & Park Lane South Metropolitan Avenue & 71 Avenue Metropolitan Avenue& Woodhaven Blvd Metropolitan Avenue & 80 Street Metropolitan Avenue & 73 street Metropolitan Avenue Train Station Metropolitan Avenue & Fresh Pond Road Metropolitan Avenue & Flushing Avenue Metropolitan Avenue & Grand Street Grand Street & Union Avenue Willamsburg Bridge Plaza Q47 Reduction. The Q47 would be reduced to operate to Glendale Rush Hours only during weekdays. The Q18 would be realigned to served Q47 areas Around 200 or less riders would be affected of this service change Q18 Extention and realignment The Q18 would be realigned and extended to Glendale via the Q47 route Middays, nights, and weekends The Q18 would run it's current routing until Roosevelt Avenue and Woodside Avenue, then follow Roosevelt Avenue to the 74 street hub. From there buses take the Q47 routing to Glendale, providing Glendale with a quick connector to the Astoria Community Q18/Q47 extention to Myrtle Avenue The Q47 (Rush Hours) Only/Q18 ( Off Peak Hours) wil be extended to Myrtle Avenue to Provide Better Connections to Riders Other Proposals -Q11/Q21 Proposal To Jackson Heights Under this proposal, the Q11/Q21 would be extended via the Q53 route to Jackson Heights. The Q29 would operate at 25 minute headways off peak hours except during Saturday Mornings and Weekday Middays, where it would run every 20 minutes - Q38 Eliminated and realignments in Elmhurst Area Buses The Q38 would be eliminated, to ensure more reliable service on each of the Corridors. The following bus routes would operate along the 38 route Q88 Under this proposal, the Q88 would be extended via the Q38 route along Eliot Avenue and Metropolitan Avenue to 69 street and Juniper Valley Road. Q67 Under this proposal, the Q67 would turn left onto Juniper Valley Road and no longer provide a connection to the Train. Riders are encouraged to take the Q38 This bus would be extended on the Q38 route until 110 street & 62 Drive Q52 Under this proposal, the Q52 would start at the current Q38 terminal in Corona and operate to Woodhaven Blvd. Riders for sections along Ekiot Avenue are encouraged to take the Q88 AT Hoffman Drive. For Service along Penelope, and 62 Dr/63 Rd or 63 Drive, customers are encouraged to get off at Woodhaven Blvd and 63 Drive/Penelope Avenue and take either a LIC or Forest Hills bound Q67
  8. If you see at Table 1, those are the years that they want to propose these services. I'm still waiting for an extended S25 and a combined S20/S40. From that table, some projects are slated to start this year. Maybe the S31 will go Bye- Bye in 2015. I'm surprised they didn't talk about limited stop varients of route, because some can use them (i.e, S1,S60/S76(Whichever One), S92,s54,S27/S33,etc..)
  9. 10C: Not Surprised since there are many fare beaters on that route 1B: Not Surprised either because it copies a lot of Services S35: Well it has a Similar loop route not far away called the S25 5A: Can be combined with the S76, but they would have to be timed S31: Not surprised since there are only two friggen round trips a day, one in the AM, on in the PM 10A/D/E: Wee the S92 is close by
  10. They short-turned it in Mastic since the S66 was originally operated as a giantic service with multiple branches. After this service was split in two, The short-turns were modified to be what the current S68 form was. The short-turns formerly known as S66 were named S68 and either cut to North Bellport or Extended to Center Moriches. The S66 full time tr4ips were extended to Riverhead because of the S90's schedule. 18 buses to Riverhead just on the S66 now as back then there were only 6 trips on the S90 to Riverhead, each 2.5 hours apart from each other. The S90 buses at the time did a loop routing with on e driver per day operating that route. Now, it has long relay time.
  11. That wont be enough. Other people take the S92 as well. The S92 is reliable for most people and if the fare is more then the bus, then I think some people would take it because It would cut down travel time by up to 75%
  12. 10A: I would totally ride that if there was a bridge that connected Shelter Island to the two forks. The only way to get to Shelter Island is by ferry, and I dunno if the bus can go on the ferry and if both are timed to meet each other S31: I would make the S31 Parts of the S1 and S33 because they arent loop routes with the loop pattern on the 25, you will have to make it so that the bus actually is a loop. Or it can be a tripper just like the MTA and Bee-Line do. Otherwise, it defeats the S25 purpose. S69: Well the S69 and 3D both operate at different schedules. The S69 operates between 8:30 and 10:45PM Operating Days and the 3D from 7AM-8:30 pm. The S69 is a late night S60 and S62.Routing. S94: True that. I would make iot so that the S94 connects with the 10C and the LIRR
  13. Because a crane malfunction, which hit an R160 at Neptune, which fell on top of a bus, which hit a pole, and the pole fell on the tracks, Bascially the Section of track Between Coney Island and W.8 Street and Neptune Avenue elevated portion can fall at any minute, reroute all trains and buses
  14. Can anyone explain to me what the S21,S74,1C, and 9A routes were
  15. In the north fork, there are a lot of Places of Interest . Many people would want to go to those areas. There also isn't direct service between the forks. Every time Suffolk tried splitting the 92, there was always customer opposition. Although the S92 looks like it should be cut because of its awkward travel path. People actually rid it between the forks.
  16. The Original S66 ran between Patchogue and Center Moriches. It ran as the current S68 runs today, but with more short-turns to Mastic, and via CR80. When the S68 was created, the S66 was Deverted onto Old Country Road with some buses running its original routing. I think that the Peak time routing was implemented for better service to that area.
  17. I'm taking the shoppers special C3 to Patchogue on May 26
  18. S92: Riders will oppose that and will not be happy. S98: Copies the S92 and 10C a lot 10C: What do you mean? 10A/B: I wouldn't. Maybe cut every other bus 10D/E: I would make it a loop S94: I'd rather have it just be the 10C(Renamed S10) and adjust 10C schedules. I agree about Sunday Service. 10C should get Sunday service as well
  19. S1:Extend 2 trips to Copiague and added Sunday Service S20: Make it Weekdays only S23: Retain S25:Retain S27: Added Sunday Service S29:Added Sunday Service S31: Eliminated, use S1 S33: One Roundtrip added originating from SUNY Farmingdale to Hauppauge and added evening Saturday and Sunday Service S35:Retain S40:Retain S41: Add Sunday Service S42: Retain S45:Retain S47:Retain S54:Added Sunday Service S56: Retain S57: Retain S58: Add Sunday Service from Lake Grove to Riverhead S59: Add Sunday Service S60: Add Sunday Service S61:Add Sunday Service S62: Add Sunday Service S63:Add Sunday Service S66: Add Sunday Service S68: Extended to Rivehead via S90 routing after Center Moriches S69: Retain S71:Add Sunday Service S76: Extend to Coram S90:Eliminated, see S68 S92: Retained, add Sunday Service year round 1A: Renamed S81 1B: Renamed S78 2A: Renamed S2 2B: Renamed S2A 3A/3B: One Loop route from Bay Shore, to Hauppauge, then back to Bay Shore, renamed S3 3C: Renamed S38 3D: Renamed S39 5a: Renamed S5 6A/B: One Route, named S6 7A/7B Patchogue: Combined to one route, renamed S7 7B HELP: Renamed S8 7E/D: One Loop route called S17 8A: Renamed S8 10A: Renamed S30 10B: Renamed S93 10C: Renamed S10 and Combined with S94, Add Sunday Service and use 3 hour headways 10D/E: One route called S69
