  1. I had seen smoke on my way to my model train club on Route 17 off to the east. When I stopped at the club I saw a Facebook post from a co worker about the fire and thought oh so that’s what that was.
  2. I thought it interesting to see MCIs from MTA Bus on some routes like the SIM23/24 (almost said X23/24) on 495 in New Jersey. I’m assuming they’re displaced from whatever garage got the new (yuck) Prevosts?
  3. Oh really? Starting to get tired of seeing these 7100s/9000s
  4. This 192/199 detour through Nutley can’t end soon enough....
  5. Something I remembered when I was applying to NJT....applications are now associated as Talent Search. Talent search....really?
  6. Too few drivers??? Even with the promise of bringing back drivers for work (since I know the NYC lines got cut)?
  7. Yep, Meadowlands only does the Rutherford section (including the 122). I’d laugh if I ever saw one of their 190s actually end up in Paterson....
  8. I actually did Greyhound training back in early 2000s. There was a whole week dedicated to nighttime driving. I don’t know if the Southern Division has any 24 hour lines, but the 190 is out of Wayne Garage is good for said training
  9. To your last point, new ops only train Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4pm, then once you finish training, you immediately get put on a night time run what with bottom of totem pole seniority, that can be a bit of rough transition.
  10. You know, while I was driving and that announcement just blared for all to hear, I just 🤦‍♂️
  11. I went to Westwood to take D4000s from Lakeland to that Westwood garage. Forgot which exit it was, but there was a really big hill once you got off the Parkway. It’s no fun when you’re driving a bus with a blown turbo up that hill🤦‍♂️
  12. So that’s twice Coach USA struck out with the old Drogin line. Should have left well enough alone...
  13. Forget about Lakeland. Nowhere near the service pre pandemic
  14. MCIs are starting to get the NABI style driver compartment doors.
  15. Sorry for the long delay 😬, but NJT may be taking over the 119 (if it hasn’t been said yet)
  16. Actually it was the Bergen County lines 751-759 (except the 758-Passaic County) that was under Saddle River control, but NJT gave those lines back to Community.
  17. The 748 is actually a contract operation by Community Coach. To your point the ridership is so light I used to drive the 30 ft Novabus RTSs on them.
  18. Well between the two garages, as far as long distances, Meadowlands garage does the 319 to Atlantic City (in conjunction with Egg Harbor garage IINM), but (seems to me) that’s a high seniority job. I applied in 2019 and probably would’ve been called a lot sooner than May 2020 if it wasn’t for COVID. Even more weird, interesting, whatever you want to call it, I had to have my interview via iPhone (like a zoom conference). They’ll send you information and instructions via email. You’ll be trained exclusively on equipment assigned to your garage (in other words, with the two garages that you’re interested in, everything). So be patient, I’m hearing things like retirement or otherwise that can open the way for opportunity. Stay close to your iphone (or droid).
  19. Had a nice time at the historical bus show in Trenton this past weekend. The old buses for NJT and others were out in force
  20. Aside from my gripe of putting up with all the self important people every Sunday trying to get into New York causing upwards of 30-45 minute delays, I like the full service routes better. MCI buses have always been a favorite of mine (second is Grumman, third is Flxible)
  21. I’d like to try the 319 as a driver. I was next to a guy at Wayne garage who was offered to do it a few months back.
