  1. The snow loans are done mainly because of suspension of artics. Artics have bad traction in inclement weather and even worse when climbing hills. So a lot of Bronx artic routes have to get help from other depots becuz most of their 40 ft fleet is being used already on their own 40 ft routes. Jamaica, QV usually loan to the Bronx, and most of the other boroughs help out within themselves such as Laguardia loans to Baisley because a lot of Baisley now has artics.
  2. Do you think they're going to use 97-98' RTS'es tmrw ? cuz there's gonna be heavy snowfall, thus, suspension of artics. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app

  4. It lets them know that there complete train is within the station limits. Also, the MTA requires conductors to point at them if to make sure they are paying attention to their job and not just opening and closing the doors.
  5. There is work going on near the Joralemon street tubes. They don't want to squish all 3 lines into the City Hall Loop so they just cut the short. Ehhhh, the serves the same purpose on its normal service pattern, so whats ur point? The is extra. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  6. There's a typo in the upcoming bus order info on the first page of this thread: "2017-18 NovaBus LFSA : 60' low floor diesel transit coach. Pilot buses 5440-5342 will be delivered Jan. '17, production buses due by March '18." Also, u could get rid of some of the info like the board info on jan 23, since that already passed. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  7. Yes, yes it is trackable. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  8. Omg bus #5966 had a broken handle today on the articulated part and I reported it at 5:52 and they kept it in service all day long. So much for reporting it to depot supervision @NYCTbus. Also, I heard an alarm go off as it pulled away from my bus stop but it didn't make any noise at northern blvd and main st, very weird.
  9. Cool. Does anybody know the numbers of the set that derailed is? Would they have to lift the car body off the trucks and redo the whole thing and is this gonna happen at Corona or some other place? Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  10. Wait how come only 1 set of R188's are OOS, shouldnt there be two, then? Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  11. Why are a set of R62A's heading to Corona tho? Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  12. My Q44 bus driver just straight up overtook a Q20A. They both made a right turn onto Northern Blvd and the Q20A was going real slow cuz he was early, so my Q44 driver literally pulled into the right lane and hauled ass to get back into the left turning lane at main st. Would the Q20a driver report the Q44 driver for such a stunt? Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  13. They would have to probably run from the same depot or the Q52/53 are gonna both be split routes. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  14. I'm pretty sure I've seen some R160s doing testing for CBTC on the nassau line. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app

  16. My transit app sent me multiple alerts, at first it was a train with mechanical problems, then it a rail condition and then an investigation of a rail condition and then both directions were skipping mets. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  17. I wrote 5896 and I meant to group them together for the fact that they were both at tuskegee not that they were the same bus model. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  18. Why are they both (5896&5987) going to tuskegee airmen? Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  19. I'm pretty sure they were built up to 5990 because I remember they put 5987-5990 on the ttmg roster and ENY said that only 5987 is on property. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  20. Yea, they're prob gonna have shuttle buses running tmrw too. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  21. Quick question: if they have built up to 5990, then why do they only deliver one? Wouldnt it be easier and more efficient to deliver all of them? You can see if more problems arises from the buses. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  22. I honestly haven't seen 5987, i wonder what they're doing to it. It is very sporadic, sometimes it will pop up and sometimes a wk of absence. All i can say is good luck catching it and the last time I saw it was monday of this week. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  23. According to wiki, d60hf #5622 is retired due to accident. Anybody know what happened? Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  24. He keeps creating an entirely new thread and its been getting repetitive. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  25. Yea good point with Canarsie, whenever some tiny thing goes down, all service is gone. You have trains terminating everywhere and your forced to another line. With 3 tracks, it limits the amount of people affected and reduces the stress on other lines. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
