  1. Yeah because MTA cannot keep those buses any longer than that, their CNG Tanks will be expired by then, unless they send a few down to Spring Creek to help the B100 and B103 routes by the Summer and have it slowly retiring until by Q4 of 2018.
  2. Yes, just like the Bx6 +SBS+, Started with XN40's, and now will be receiving XN60's for the service.
  3. Why not push the 2013 XD60's down to Brooklyn for the B82 +SBS+ until the next batch of XD60's come in, a 80 displaced D60HF's can cover up for both depots, and have the 2017 XD60's at GH hold up a bit longer.
  4. To put it on more simple words... Now that we got the new Bluetooth Countdown Clocks on the B Division, instead of MTA adding 1 or 2 more on the platforms, why are they wasting money adding the old A Division styled countdown clocks on those same stations that just are giving date and time?
  5. Can anyone here assure me that this is really happening or if I am on a high dose of Meth, because for the B Division MTA Installed INCONVENIENTLY the Bluetooth Countdown clocks in the Center of the Platform, and now are responding to complaints by installing the old style LED Countdown Clocks that are just there giving the time and date. It is outrageous how MTA is just being so lazy to add 1 or 2 more Bluetooth Countdown Clocks, and rather waste money on Old Crap that will either only give you Date and time, or be off 90% of the time.
  6. Did you hear the lady insulting the crap out of the guy who had music on the train?
  7. It was legit, they had to key some doors open...
  8. Might have he entered the station at a high speed?
  9. I was actually on that set yesterday, Car 3059 , it overran Norwood Avenue by 3 cars.
  10. The ADA Issue was explained in the board meeting, There is a specific ADA Program, and ESI is another Program, ESI is just station enhancement, not down to the foundation rehab. ESI is just a quick alternative to the painful 14 month long typical rehab. I understand there are things that need to be maintained, but Stations can't be let down the drain. MTA had a plan in 2005 to have all stations renovated by 2011 and they had a crisis at the time, took the choice to push it back and were stuck to what we have now, nasty disgraceful stations that look like if MTA has forgotten about their existence.
  11. With modern day construction methods there is no excuse to not rehab the station, either it gets done now or it collapses on people. Chambers Street cannot be put on hold and that is the problem, People putting important projects on hold because they feel it be better off having a station collapse on people or a train than do the repairs when the opportunity is available, this Procrastination has caused MTA to get to the problems, and state of disrepair that it is in right now.
  12. It is still not too late for the DOT to bring the 34th Street Busway to the table, after all they can Allow Deliveries from 10pm-6am, Noon - 2pm, and also creating or adding more Delivery Zones on the Surrounding Streets and provide Incentives for Overnight deliveries. as for car wash due to its proximity to the Cross Bronx Expressway, theres no parking regulations enforced on the street and for the Bus Islands the adjacent parking can be removed and DOT should build 4 Municipal Parking Lots on the Corridor as well to Make Up and create more parking spaces for the thoroughfare and neighborhoods.
  13. Now with modern day Technology and more advanced construction methods nothing is impossible and MTA Should be looking towards rehabilitating Chambers Street, and it is not necessary to replace the pillars if its supporting the station, the pillars can get a new layer of concrete and tiles, the station should also be waterproofed in the process to have the station last for about 30-40 years until it gets rehabilitated again... But Chambers St needs a rehabilitation unfortunately, a catastrophe will soon happen, and that station can't be on Life Support forever and at some point we all will need to realize that a rehabilitation would be the last resort to keep the station standing for the next 30-40 years. The conditions down there are disgusting, dangerous, hazarsous, disgraceful, pitiful, deplorable, and the station itself is being ignored and left to look like a Shithole, if the station ain't gonna get attention then we all better pray a 181 St Incident doesn't happen down there. That station is more of a dungeon than anything else, if nothing will be done, well as much put up Scaffolding inside the station or lower the ceiling clearance to a more appropiate height and renovate the bottom half of the station.
  14. Also Bedford Avenue on the can be under the ESI Program, if they start in June, they can be done by December, 4 months prior to the Shutdown in Manhattan, it would be convenient to have a rehabbed Terminal and then the Manhattan Stations can be rehabilitated during the Tunnel Closure so by the time that the reopens it has newly renovated and up to date stations in Manhattan, I'd also suggest MTA cleaning their R143's they looked like they last got cleaned in 2002...
  15. I can agree with you on your plan and point. I feel that the Nassau Line needs a refreshment starting with Chambers St, Instituting a Weekend and Late Night Shuttle Bus Service running between Essex - Broad St, late nights running from 11:30pm - 7:00am. And use other lines as alternatives.
  16. That idea doesn't sound bad, and I would also recommend them covering up the abandoned platforms on the sides of the station and MTA use that space for either Crew Quarters, another RTO District, or Equipment Storage. I feel that they should also add Bowery to the ESI List, that station would benefit an intensive 6 month rehab and upgrade, it would give the station More Character in the Financial District.
  17. I am not advocating for less roadspace and never suggested replacing expressways with Busways, I said roadspace could be shared "IF APPLICABLE" obviously sir, a narrow or important street can't forcively get bus, bike, or HOV lanes as it causes more chaos and disruption than it helps. When I mention Busways, I am not saying every route should get them and I blame myself for not specifying enough that point, Webster Avenue was a perfect example of center running lanes due to the areas it traverses like car washes, gas stations, flat fixes, precincts, and DOT Maintanence zones many disruption is caused by the vehicles either parked or on double parking. Obviously with NYC's infrastructure not every +SBS+ route can have a Busway, another route that would benefit and originally was supposed to have a Busway was the M34 and M34A on 34th Street, and the proposal was shot down by Macy's fearing that it would interfear with their once a day annual Thanksgiving parade, and it is OBVIOUS to everyone that the Bx12 on Fordham Road would be a LIVING HELL, and curbside lanes is the best it can get. The point trying to be made is that at the end of the day people are trying to get from Point A to Point B in different means of travel and everyone deserves the same Priorities.
  18. Bowery qualifies for ESI because it isn't a big station, requires lots of component replacement and its in pure state of deterioration, and @RR503 if your saying that Chambers street is "fine" then I recommend you check the logs for that station, the station that Suspended and service on rush hour because a piece of ceiling collapsed on the tracks blocking off service, Chambers St needs a down to the Foundation rehabilitation because it has been under years of neglect I agree with @Via Garibaldi 8 stations that need renovations NEED to be renovated and not treated as if MTA never knew it has existed. Will it take for the station to collapse on people for MTA to finally rehab? Its better start now with the resoureces, there is money specifically allocated for Station rehab and should be used on those stations, no one wants to wait in a station that looks like a hell hole, and highly unsafe.
  19. I can agree I've been there it is disgusting seeing bums piss on the station, and in the heart of midtown looking like mediocre sh*t
  20. Unfortunately Chambers St can't qualify for ESI Because it is too big of a station and would take more than 6 months to renovate, Chambers St needs more of a $2.4 Billion renovation shutting down the entire station for 14 Months to rip everything out, waterproof, refurbish, install, and re-open.
  21. Jesus Christ, I'd understand having 1 or 2 freinds joining him along, but a whole posse is just out the window. It is very disgraceful to see the MTA not pay attention to that, and I would be angry too seeing a Bus Operator rolling around with a Posse everytime I board his bus.
  22. Fitst off, I am not defacating people with cars, second off when I mention Equal use of road space I am NOT NECESSARILY SUGGESTING BUS LANES, because anything can be shared on a roadway, may it be an extended sidewalk, bike lanes, HOV Lanes, and Bus Lanes IF APPLICABLE. I am not leaning to any side nor anyone here is, were just pointing out your problem with dissing everything that involves Bus Service Improvements because it will inconvenience those in cars. +SBS+ as is, is just a watered down BRT which is the DOT's fault for not wanting to make an isolated Busway, and not wanting to do away with these Curbside and Offset lanes, and I feel that future routes should be properly designed to be successful. You complain about the traffic but yet you fail to recognize there are too many cars on the roads, the amount of buses in MTA's fleet doesn't even make up a fraction of the total amount of cars in the U.S. you just use buses to promote your Pro-Car agenda to make your point in any way, shape or form match your Pro-Car views and Squeal in the forums to why any solution dealing with buses is wrong. You have no compassion to the daily commuter, I myself as one, and want to Prioritize Cars because the people riding a bus are Inferior and out of touch with society. If all your gonna do is Promote Car Propaganda, then this is the wrong forum for you, because it is called "New York City Transit Forums" for a reason.
  23. You are here complaining about 2 minutes, you cannot compare a short crosstown route to a long bus route that actually is longer than a mile. You may see 2 minutes as minor, but it means more than what you think. Offboard payment is needed, as a daily commuter that relies on Public Transportation it isn't fun waiting on a long line for people to insert Quarters or dip MetroCards into a Farebox once at a time, Offboard payment is being used Globally, and not just in the MTA, offboard payment is actually one of the most needed things in a city with over 8 million people. No one expects +SBS+ to be the END of all the flaws, yes the system has flaws but can be fixed. +Selectbusservice is atleast an inefficient and available remedy into a problem ongoing, sometimes may solve the problem, sometimes partially, or not at all, but nothing will ever be perfect. Just because you own a car doesn't mean that you and your "Car Foes" have exclusive rights for a full width roadway, we need to balance roadway use and Bus riders also deserve a fighting chance, and instead of Fully blaming the MTA for +SBS+ Failures, why not blame the city or the Mayor for not putting a cap on Uber and Lyft vehicles, and allowing a soaring increase of those ridesharing services. You yet cannot get to recognize, despite what us Forum members have told you to understand that just because you have a different orientation in transportation doesn't mean you have to go out here in these forums defacating on Public Transportation to support and fix up your Pro-Car views and how Cars should deserve more priority than buses because "80%" of people own a car, while us Public transportation users are getting F****d over disgraceful traffic on a daily basis because too many cars on the road. Everyone deserves a fighting chance and I feel that there should be an Equal use of road space which is maintained by OUR TAXPAYER DOLLARS to provide efficient services to all means of transportation, and not just prioritize a single transportation method, because not everyone has the luxury to own a car, not everyone is interested in driving, not everyone has your type of income, not everyone can pay taxi's, and not everyone is at your level, so before you start defacating on Public Transit, think about how meaningful it is to the others who can't own a car or pay a taxi, and you as a Pro car person may find 2 Minutes useless, but in NYC it means more than what you think. So stop pretending to "Care for the rider" as an excuse to throw in your Pro-Car propaganda with intentions to make your point no matter what the circumstances are. Consider others.
  24. It's very sad how people aren't able to take 1 SECOND OF THEIR PRECIOUS LIVES to actually STOP AND READ a simple sign that says "Pay Before Boarding the Bus." and then wonder why the hell did they get a $100 dollar fine. Like I sometimes feel like going "You Brainless @$$hole the instructions to pay are in your face!" And then they even simply ignore the sign on the Farebox that say "No Fares Collected Inside the Bus." And still dump the MetroCard in the Farebox, I have no sympathy for people who know how to read and later act that they didn't know, and honestly their balloni is what's screwing this country up. They think that by just victimizing themselves and running over to the media is going to stop everything they consider bad. Same people who ask for a free ride while we have to pay to take a ride and then deal with their BS. Taxpayer dollars going into transit filling up more than half of the necessary gap to pay for those freeby @$$holes. We need more enforcement involved with this issue, and people need to stop being a potato and damn take a second to get your face off the screen and read!
