  1. On the optimistic side, poor leaders who only achieved power due to familial connections are usually always viewed as failures... just look at George Bush Jr...
  2. I'd rather have it to 145th- is crap on the weekends while the is ok.
  3. I don't think they will go that far- given how obsessed Cuomo is with making the subway look good (and that he takes credit for it even though it is Byford's work), I'd imagine the brunt of most cuts would be on the buses (the new redesigns they are doing will be a chance for them to do just that).
  4. Could you make the station name font smaller so it can fit onto one line but still keep the same length the sign has now? Thank you.
  5. Can I get a station sign that looks like this: Forest Hills - 71st Avenue
  6. Didn't Byford mention some de-interlining plan at one of the meetings a few months ago? (It would be interesting to know whether or not transit would consider deinterlining Broadway right now).
  7. I’d imagine you could do that in the Rockaways given the large platforms and little passengers, but in other areas the ramp would take up too much platform space.
  8. Is there any difference between dwells on the 46s and 68s?
  9. What about if they changed crews at 36th similarly to how they change at BPB today?
  10. Another casualty of the failing bus system... that being said though, I’m not surprised. Most new residents would prefer to pay a higher rent that move out to a semi -suburban part of Queens where you gotta wake up at an ungodly time just to spend an hour on the bus and then an hour on the train...
  11. I’d imagine people at 103rd-116th would do this as well.
  12. in two sections (Forest Hills-City Hall, Whitehall St-Bay Ridge) cut
  13. Is there a way for you shrink it? It currently doesn't meet the guidelines of 800x200 pixels...
  14. Backing down is a great way to show that the city doesn’t have the guts to deal with a few whiny people. We can’t back down from every project if we want to get something done.
  15. Why should we bow down to the NIMBYs? They can only appeal so much...
  16. Unlike other areas, I don’t think Astoria would care much to the loss of express service since most people get off by 34th anyways... if you mentioned that you could increase service and kill the 34th delay, I’m sure almost everyone would be on your side...
  17. Oh my god! My children saw the word “sex”! Oh the horrors... I can understand why the ads shouldn’t be on the front due to the harassment issues, but it’s not like they are doing some serious damage to children since they won’t care if the parents lie...
  18. On CPW, is there higher demand for 8th-bound service or 6th-bound service?
  19. You'd have to signal as far as 145th to account for the switching that would be required but I don't really think you would need to go past that (you could just start the signalling right at 145th or at the junction afterwards). In doing this, you'd instead close one level at a time and have local service run normally while express service would use the express track in the other direction (ex. close upper with sb via local and all nb via sb express and vice versa). This could also go so far as to permit full shutdowns of the and in parts of the Bronx/upper Manhattan as you would be able to provide adequate alternatives.
  20. Is CPW reverse-signalled on the express track? If so, provided you build the other half of that crossover just north of 59th, couldn't you use one level of CPW every time work is needed to cut down on flagging issues?
  21. How do you guys view the idea that local buses should be free? Most people agree routes like Q70 should be, but what about others?
