  1. Oh no... don't tell me they're gonna pull that B70 loop crap again... The B37 is also often utilized by seniors/those on 3 Av/the west side of Sunset Park/Bay Ridge, and with (a bit) less stops than the B63, is a good alternative for whenever the craps up.
  2. Quite similar to this old feature, though not nearly as descriptive.
  3. I think there could be some interesting additions to go along with the B99 (including in other boroughs), especially in Inwood/Kingsbridge.
  4. I remember getting on the train at 6:30... you had at least 2-3 bodies in each car, and sometimes there's a lottery and you will just see 5 homeless people sleeping in the same car, while people are going to work in the AM rush! Thankfully I have time at 95 to choose whichever car I like.
  5. This sounds like what Trump had to say when asked about his plans for his second term...
  6. Cool idea, but I don't see them changing their minds anymore, especially with Cuomo being oddly and exceptionally determined in his Willets Pt project. Also, there's no way this could be connected to what is currently proposed unless costs are dramatically reduced, and we have this pandemic to simply exacerbate that situation.
  7. What a bendy boy! I will have to go out and fan this bus soon.
  8. That's a very interesting yet mundane qualification for becoming a "favorite city."
  9. So, as a Bay Ridge resident, I'll give my opinion. Most of the time (not overnight), able riders can easily take the to get to Manhattan, though often times people take the X27/X28/X37/X38 to get there (if either they live in those transit deserts, can't walk all the way down/upstairs for the subway, or just want to take the bus instead for some sightseeing). However, these rides are very infrequently scheduled and often times I'd see suggestions from my travel apps to take the S53/S79 to SI and transfer to a SIM since they are much more frequent and there are a lot more options. I personally would love to see 1-2 SIMs stop at Bay Ridge, provided that they aren't too far from the subway (lest this was overnight) but not too far from the outskirts (going into Dyker Heights) of the neighborhood either. I understand the willingness to not want to escape Gatling/Dahlgren Pl, though I do think at least overnight there could be some connection to 4-5 Avs to make up for the . Essentially, however, yes, the SIM1C should stop in Bay Ridge overnight.
  10. My favorite comment is the one that says, "Appreciate the gesture, how many years will this take to complete ?"
  11. Ok, but I don't understand how that would be a "cut," per se, since abandoning skip-stop on the , at times, is even advocated for, and the total frequency would not be changed.
  12. The , sure, let's go back to 2010 (sigh), but the ? Thing is, elimination is something that's been discussed on this forum, and it would inextricably have to lead to an increase in service (so either way, people wouldn't be losing out on much, unless they seriously decide to keep the 's current schedule after eliminating the ...) Um... do we even know if there's a set year for their arrival yet? This just in, NASA builds a rail track that goes to the Moon! I remember watching one of his daily press briefings... media scolded him about the LGA airtrain yet he just denied everything... no investment in buses, the airtrain is "super duper fast" going all the way to mets-willets... it was ridiculous
  13. now that's just bad parenting (lol sorry for not actually attempting this, I don't know much about the subways before 2000)
  14. Ohhhh yes the whole Brighton Beach-Sheepshead Bay thing... I'm assuming the people that get mad, however, are not regular riders, since everyone knows the is going have to stall s/b at Sheepshead for about 5 minutes while the dashes out of there... or even just the fact that the is faster (well, at least it USED to be) due to its R160s.
  15. So essentially, this part is just back and forth "the subways might be closed... BUT they also might not be closed!" can someone elaborate on what this means? assuming these are unsubsidized numbers, I'm confused how subway service can cost $1.93 per passenger
  16. They had their chance... now they have no choice but to keep the problem
  17. Step 1: Label the new service as a "service change" Step 2: Consistently keep the service change Step 3: Let people get used to it and make them forget about the old service pattern, dubbing the new service as "good service"
  18. I thought that person (from last year, not years ago) said the was fastest due to no bridge interlining and limited stops.
  19. yes but not necessary since the is an independent line
  20. It feels weird for R160s on the to not be normal
  21. Is CBTC installation going to speed up due to low ridership?
  22. Does there really need to be a 21 second intro just to show a 4 second clip??
  23. took the subway only one time and I'm not an essential worker, but generally the subway environment is forgiving, though I still saw glares coming from passengers who knew I didn't look like an essential worker...
