  1. Unless the train runs to/from New Lots Avenue, the math doesn't check out.
  2. I get the impression that the cross-platform thing is (Brooklyn) terminus-bound, as opposed to Manhattan-bound.
  3. Get a bike. The costs of one are far lower.
  4. You're thinking of 62nd Street. The Empire Connection aspect isn't currently funded, but it did undergo at least a bit of consideration. It'll probably undergo more consideration once the New Haven connection is operational.
  5. I can't even remember the last time RIOC accepted fares on the Red Bus...
  6. If you still can't figure it out after putting the two together like this, I don't know what to tell you.
  7. I guess your name is Asinus. The Metropolitan Transportation Authority is the parent organization of several entities, which includes the Long Island Rail Road Company. The sheer audacity of claiming that a parent organization needs a child entity's permission to allow a third party any degree of access -- especially when considering an effectively reversed agreement that is still active to this day -- is so far beyond stupid that it's virtually impossible to consider the person making it highly misinformed, particularly around these parts. If you're looking for a toilet, look elsewhere.
  8. The fact of the matter is, the borderline stroad east of Ocean Avenue is highly residential, unlike the more mixed portion west of Ocean Avenue.
  9. Would NJT actually strive for compatibility with OMNY? If not, it's a hard pass from me. That's not just about the H&M, either.
  10. Given how old they are, that's no surprise.
  11. I don't think it's supposed to. It reeks of the (stereo)typical NIMBYism, particularly with the thinly-veiled pro-car bent.
  12. It's both. They truncated them to Hicksville in favor of another Jamaica-Hicksville route, only to start trying to half-ass walking it back a few years later.
  13. If I remember correctly, that lost all power, not just traction power. I'm not sure if that happened with that , but if it did, oh boy.
  14. That's relatively simple with cars generally built to the IND standard, but for 75-footers, that's an entirely different story, doubly so on curves.
  15. That explains all the dead motors! In case it wasn't clear, this is a joke. That said, it can't actually be good for the motors...
  16. It covers both, but Chapter 11 can allow for restructuring. Chapter 7, on the other hand, usually ends in dissolution.
  17. Did you use it on Hillside Avenue? If not, there you go.
  18. Not the best of signs, but at least it's not Chapter 7...
  19. That's definitely good to know. As an aside, I have to remind myself not to mentally autocorrect "PIS" to "POS"...
