  1. Hi Far Rock Depot: You've been riding the Fulton Street Line for twenty years (since 1989/1990)? Then you remember when the (C) had the R27/30s and made the trip to Beach 116th Street-Rockaway Park? I made my first railfan trip out to the Rockaways on them (the R27/30s) on the (C). Pretty cool trip - both to Rockaway Park and Far Rockaway. 70(EE)

  2. Hi NX Express, Thank you! No, I turned 47 yesterday. Born March 4, 1963 when President John F. Kennedy was in office. :)

  3. It has been a refreshing day at Subchat.com, lrg5784. I don't think I've ever seen this many funny posts of a non flame sort. I hope you can see some before (if) Uncle Larry reefs them. It's felt like April 1st over there.

  4. Hi GojiMet86; I like your interest and I think you might enjoy this website: http://www.chicago-l.org . It's the Chicago version of nycsubway.org - L Lines, railcars old and new, present and former stations, articles on L accidents, and more.

I like Chicago-L's collection of 6000 Series Photos - my favorite Chicago railcar and collection of both Loop L and Loop subway station photos.

The Brown Line is particularly interesting - elevated from the Loop, the last mile or so is at street level and features a couple of actual grade crossings. Rockwell is one of these grade crossings.

    Have a wonderful day. 70(EE)

  5. Hi Grand Concourse: Happy Saturday! I do hope you are feeling better:). Have a wonderful day. 70(EE)

  6. I figured I'd better comment on the photos now. With March on the way, we're going to be wanting to think warm thoughts.

P.S. We're getting hit pretty good with rain and clouds - and it's back down to a cool feeling 68 or 69 degrees and 47 or 48 degrees in the morning.

  7. Hi! NX Express, I promise it wasn't deliberate! Just many photos I didn't see and some new members. Some of Yuki's photo threads are epic in the amount of photos and videos he fits in. I swear some of threads must contain at least twenty five photos/videos each.

Then with all the snow the northeast has been getting, it's made for some beautiful photos. 70(EE)

  8. Hi PATCOman, Your signature has caught my attention. How long is a Hi-Speed Line car and which section would you say is the best? Have a wonderful day. 70(EE)

  9. Hi! T Lo are you ok? I hope your day is going better. 70(EE)

  10. Greetings! How is it in beautiful Montreal?

  11. Hi! Please go to school while you have an opportunity to, young man. You'll never regret it though it may seem "boring" or "repetitous" now. These, in fact, are the best times of your life.

  12. Hi! Today it has been mostly cloudy and cool. Around 60. We've been expecting rain, but it hasn't started yet. Did you have fun in the snow today?

  13. Hi Daniel: Here is a music video you might enjoy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cy3pCdjN5F4. Have a wonderful day

  14. Hi Mr. Hall! Welcome to NYC Transit Forums!

  15. Sure. Where do I forward the e-mail to?

  16. lrg5784, I received an E-Mail from Dr. Mark Schneider about Subchat.com. It was in my Spam Folder and I just saw it today. I think he should speak with Uncle Larry, the Subchat webmaster, no?

  17. Hi, emmanuel295 I'm sorry - I forgot to say welcome back. :) 70(EE)

  18. Finally beginning to dry out after a week of clouds, rain and cool temperatures :) Northern Arizona received a lot of snow from this system. Valley Metro now charges $5.25 for a Day Pass if you purchase it on the bus; $3.50 if you purchase it off the bus. Our Day Pass is not only good for your ride home, it's good for unlimited transfers in one day - bus to bus, bus to Metro, etc. It replaced the old paper transfer.

  19. I tend to agree about the old 70(EE). I like how my 1972 subway map mentions it runs during "normal hours". That always gives me a smile. The times weren't the best, but we had variety - colorful subway maps, vending machines on the platforms, places like the Nedicks at Roosevelt Avenue 70(EE) 70(GG) 70(E) 70(F) 70(7) station, Motormen/Conductors like Mr. Ed Davis, Sr. and Mr. Kevin Selkirk and a boxful of subway cars to ride in.

  20. Hi Pablo; Just curious: Can you use the Bus Card on Bergen Avenue, Montgomery And West Side, #10 and Broadway or on just some of these and how does fare work if you ride the 99S just on Central Avenue or from Jersey City to Union City, do you know? Also, it looks like the #87 has an improved Sunday schedule and possibly Saturday schedule as well and that the #1 Journal Square Branch now uses West Side and Sip Avenues from/to Communipaw leaving the Exchange Place Branch providing service on Communipaw as far as the Junction. Have a wonderful day, Your Friend 70(EE)

  21. Hi Pressed Steel, Thank you for adding me as a NYC Transit Forums Friend. I really like your photo of #9306, above. I loved these cars in their aquamarine and cream. Have a wonderful day. 70(EE)

  22. lrg5784, There's a twist to next week's (G) suspension that I've posted in the (G) thread: (R) Trains are running via the (F) and skipping Queens Plaza in both directions! The last local stop for the (R) will be 36th Street meaning the (E) will be the only connection to/from the Shuttle Buses at Queens Plaza. Should be a fun weekend on Q.B..

  23. I gather three masked men entered the Friendly Laundromat, confronted the victim, and shot him in the hip. He was rushed to the Medical Center where he underwent surgery.
