  1. 6th ave CBTC won't be a thing until the next new order starts rolling in. The need NTTs because of 8th ave CBTC since CBTC starts at 59th CC. On top of that, GOs and reroutes as well. If Jamaica gets a piece of the R211 order which they will. Those R160s displaced by an R211 would go to CI for the and if they get about 500 R160s, Then the would get the other half of the R160 fleet with the R68s taking up only 10- 20% of the
  2. R160's 8377 to 8612,8653-9942, R179s and R211's CBTC will be compatible with all upcoming and existing CBTC lines except the line.
  3. Again, The isn't getting R179's. The is back at Jamaica Yard and Jamaica yard isn't getting the R179's. The R179's would stay where they are. The Only R179's I see moving are the 130 10 car units to 207th st to push out the 8 car units back to ENY. Thus Pushing out the R160's for 8 car service. By then the R179's should have CBTC in them meaning the could use the R179's. This would allow the R179's to be at 2 yards instead of 3. CI isn't slated to get these cars, The will stay at CIY and would probably be R160's since it's a part time line. Those R160's if they get 580 back would be shared with the with only a few R68's being on those lines with the being all R68's. is likely to get a chunk of this order to prepare for future CBTC. has to be fully tech by 2026 at the latest Jamaica would get a piece of this order due to the fact these cars would have open gangways (if they go through with it) and larger doors. These would be mainly for the The lines aren't the priority for tech trains right now as the IND lines are the main focus. Astoria CBTC has been brought back on board so it's possible that the R160's would be shared with the but by the time Astoria CBTC is completed, The newest order of cars will likely be in service by then.
  4. The switch was moved much later than 2004 so the trains terminated at 61st skipping 69th in on direction. R68's first ran on the back in 1987 as a test train in passenger service and the R40's debuted on the . So both Fleets ran on Queens Blvd way before 2004.
  5. Probably going to swap it out for an R42 or Inspection. Some cars still get inspected (The ones they are keeping)
  6. They do it at Metropolitan ave Lefferts Shuttle, They cut the trains at Lefferts blvd as well.
  7. Again, The R179s are staying where they are at. the Only R179s I see moving are the ones at Pitkin yard that would be transferred to 207th st yard. ENY will have the 8 car fleet while those R160A-1s would go to the . This Move would reduce the R179s from being in 3 yards to 2 yards and it would save money. It makes no sense to have the R179s at Jamaica or Coney Island if the were to go back to CI. The R179s will have CBTC so they can run on the displacing some of those R160s. You guys aren't seeing the Clear picture. The entire IND has to be tech trains by at least 2026 due to CBTC. CI would get R160's for the while the remaining could be for the The is rumored to get a piece of the R211 order to displace the R68's to Coney Island.
  8. Even if it a smee train, The idiots couldn't run wild regardless. I went on the TOMC train trip when conquestors were running wild and the trip was peaceful and none of them were on the trip. Paid Trips are just better. It's only when they run any museum trains in normal service you would have some type of drama. I'm glad the trips are back and I'm grateful but it's the usual Low V's and R1/9's. They couldn't even use the pre-war BMT equipment for the CI trip. It sucks that the TOMC doesn't come out as much. But I think the TOMM will be out on the parade of trains if they do one this year.
  9. I really hope you are joking They have rotting frames and run like complete garbage and are still here because they have had no replacements up until the R211 order. 64 R46's were supposed to go to SI in the 2010's until they decided not to. And the only reason why they are faster than the SMEE's is due to the SMEE's being slowed down in 1995. Prew 1995 the SMEE's were just as fast as those SIRT cars.
  10. They might change that, It's probably a typo. If not the people who planned that are very dumb.
  11. They'll probably run them both together which would make sense. They have more than enough R160's for the weekend to run on the alongside the since they have lay ups in the yard, Along hillside, union turnpike, ave x yard and CIY. So They wouldn't have to borrow anything like the R179s or R211A's from the .
  12. Yeah The Q4 and Q84 are nice routes to fan on. I have taken pictures of the 1999 RTS when they were brand new on the Q84 but those pictures got lost when i moved.
  13. Extending the to Jamaica center won't make sense either way you put it. The uses a decent amount of train sets and have decent frequencies. Removing the from Jamaica Center would be a terrible idea as well as a lot of people use the . Then on top of that you only have locals serving 53rd st which would piss off even more people because you would have to send the via 63rd if it's express and People who use Jamaica Center wouldn't take that kindly plus you still have to switch from local to express tracks at Queens plaza backing up service since both the and have to cross over which is why they are planning to swap the back to 53rd to eliminate that merge at Queens Plaza.
  14. 96th st Broadway express to Queens Broadway Local with the going to Astoria. By doing this, You will eliminate merges. No need for the to go to queens. to Jamaica Center wouldn't work due to how many trains are needed per hour. the terminal can't handle services like the The is short, That's why it goes there vs the or . The only other line that could go to Jamaica center is the which no one would want. Even with the 4 trains go to 179th st due to the fact that Parsons can't handle every single train due to the switch placement.
  15. 6th ave is being done before Astoria. By the time Astoria is done, we would be in the 2030's. I wish they can do the whole broadway but tech train availability would be an issue until the next new order after the r211's start coming in ( fleet, the would be stuck with the R68's.)
  16. The got the R160's because of the swapping with the The isn't going to run on weekends, As much as it would help CPW. The GO are going to get in the way of that plus you have to figure out funding. The is still slated to get NTT's because of 8th ave CBTC and future 6th ave CBTC.
  17. Yeah it's a waste but this is we are talking about here. It's from Ditmars to 57th and 7th ave. But It that project is far off anyway. Yeah, This is what i was thinking about. wants all the cbtc lines grouped but it wouldn't make sense to have the go to concourse and have R211's since they are brand new cars. It's better for the to use the R160's and stay at CIY instead.
  18. The going to Concourse is just a rumor and now that Astoria CBTC is back on the table, It's best to Leave the at Coney Island and just have it use R160's along with the and . By the time Astoria gets CBTC (I would say around 2027-28 ish), The R211 order would be complete if all options are exercised. Let the get a fresh new fleet of R211's while Jamaica Gets a batch to push the R160's back to CI for the . I think that's whats going to happen anyway.
  19. will not be getting R179's, Those R179's would be pushed to the (When they get cbtc, The cbtc in the R179's can run on queens blvd.) The would be getting R211's (If they install the cbtc that the uses which is different from the R160's 8377 and up,179s and 211s.) They'll be shared with the like the R143's and R160's 8313-8376) If not then Yeah they could run on the but could also be on the . The going to concourse is still a rumor. IMO it should stay at CI. If that's the case, The R160's could be shared between the (100%) and if Jamaica gets about 500 R211s. The 260 Siemens R160's could go back along with 8713-8842 and 9103-9192 and R160A2's 8653-8712. That's 540 cars, More than enough for the and lines with about 2-4 sets of R68/A's for additional Rush Hour service for the with the being 100% R68/R68A. Plus Astoria will be getting cbtc within the next 8-10 years so it would make sense to have the stay at CI anyway. The R211's could be for the rockaway pk shuttle and lines. But things can change.
  20. need tech trains because of the Astoria Terminal swap. That's why the R46's are mainly on the due to the digital signs.
  21. That's not happening when it's in Black and white that the will be getting these cars first due to 8th ave CBTC which should be complete by 2025 (2026). Every IND line will have tech trains within the next 4-6 years because of CBTC meaning all R46's have to be off the by 2024 and the R68's off the by 2025-2026. Each 8th ave line has to be fully tech by 2024-2025, This is why the won't get them first. And it wouldn't make any sense to give the R211's since it's a part time route. The R160's would be a better fit for the . Jamaica would just be a mixture of R160 and R211's. they wouldn't make it all R211's since the fleet would be too new. The could probably get about 330-350 R211's while the if it stays at Coney get the R160's from Jamaica (This would allow the Siemens to go back to CI yard first) followed by 8713-8842 group of R160's. meaning some could be shared with the
  22. GO starts early, I'm not a fan of these GO's esp with the Queens bound trains being express.
  23. People tend not to think with common sense at all. Regardless of what people think, This will be brought up. had a chance to install emergency intercoms years ago and they took cheap way out. Cars like the R46's should have had them post GOH with the R68/68A's right after. While The doors being locked do suck, They only lock them because the way the cars overhang when they turn. Having emergency intercom like the NTT's would have been helpful so this way the crew would have been alerted.
  24. We know why they are locked, We are saying they are safety hazards for lacking an Emergency intercom system to alert the crew. If They had those, Them being locked wouldn't have been a big deal since the crew can unlock the doors with a push of a button. In this case they would have left the doors locked until the next station and the police would have been right there to nab the prep. If one of these cars catches fire in a tunnel (mainly the last 2-3 cars), It would be a big problem. If they had installed the emergency intercoms like on the tech trains, The crew would know exactly what's going on. That's the issue.
  25. Please do me a favor Shut the f**k up What does that have to do with anything. The guy is a nutjob that just randomly started shooting people. Stop trying to spread propaganda for the sake of it.
