Cortlandt St N/B to reopen the day before Thanksgiving!

As for the (1) station, the tunnel looks totally reconstructed just waiting for the construction to reach the level of the platform for full platforms to be opened. Stairs and elevator wells are there, no elevators in them, i guess they will come later as they build up to the street level.

I'm reminded every time i see that how amazing it is that we could rebuild anything there.

That photo looks like it was taken right after 9/11.

It was. I believe it's on the opposite end from the pile of rubble that came through the ceiling, not sure at all. I know there's some serious damage just to the left of the photo, as you can see one of the vault supports buckled.

Hard to imagine the forces at work that could crumple a wrought iron column like that.

Confused a bit. The t/a site says its opening on Monday the 23:

Cortlandt St station, uptown Queens-bound service restored as of Monday, Nov 23.

http://tripplanner.mta.info/NewTP/serviceAdvisories/ServiceAdvisoryAll.aspx

But clicking to the page shows the 25th. So im guessing is the 25th not 23rd? And why at 3PM? A special opening like NSF?

The service alert E-Mails I got has it for the 25th!

"Queens-bound W service restored at Cortlandt St station

Effective Nov 25, 3 PM, Wednesday"

"Queens-bound R service restored at Cortlandt St station

Effective Nov 25, 3 PM, Wednesday"

YEP! It's pretty much the 25th!

Also saw a G.O. notice for this @ 36 St 4th Ave Yesterday as well!
