LRG Posted February 17, 2010 Share #1 Posted February 17, 2010 Since my Friday and Saturday classes were canceled, I railfanned (check my first blog post, if interested, for an itinerary of what I did). Other than that, here's what happened: From Friday, February 12th, 2010: I took a snapshot of 7 WTC upon leaving Chambers Street, heading for the PATH train to Exchange Place for the HBLR (will provide a link for that later on): In Staten Island: Here's the abandoned SIR North Shore Line: A few more bonuses (the following two were from the X10): Now, can someone say "R32 ?": "32 ?": And how about "32 ?" Was I lucky or what! I caught R32s on the , , and , all in one day! Who knew getting an R32 is easy as ...and ? Lmao : Saturday's batch is coming up, so don't reply yet. LRG Posted February 17, 2010 Author Share #4 Posted February 17, 2010 From Saturday, February 13th 2010: I didn't really see anything interesting except for an R32 on the . And I only spotted the set that I was on as well so that killed that multiple R32 hint rumor. In the morning, I rode the shuttle bus from Brooklyn to Queens on an RTS based out of Ulmer Park. I really didn't feel like taking bus pics that day: After riding the and , I caught the 32 at Jay Street heading to Manhattan. It was going to leave but the went ahead first. After the , I headed to the : On a side note, good news for you R160 fans: 9898-9902, the highest-numbered Kawasaki R160Bs are now here: Afterwards, I headed to Staten Island and checked out the Staten Island Railway (I'll post those in the SIR subforum). After that, I lingered at the mall for an hour, then checked out the , and in Queens: And from there, I headed home. That's all for now, so feel free to reply. Enjoy! R32 3348 Posted February 17, 2010 Share #15 Posted February 17, 2010 Nice pics and vids! Does your camera have a different resolution setting? You can use that to get a different image ratio like 4:3 or 3:2 so you can get more of the train and its surroundings into the photo.
LRG Posted February 17, 2010 Author Share #16 Posted February 17, 2010 Thanks again! And @Kris: I can also shoot in 4:3 but the 16:9 ratio is just a preference. I'll try switching back and forth between the ratios in the future.
