And the Proposed Obama Health Care Reform bill is.....

Recommended Posts

And the status of the landmark and controversial national health care reform bill of 2010 proposed by President Obama is? According to the associated press and most media outlets, is now barring a last minute surprise change of votes by House members, will pass the US House and later the US Senate along party lines with almost every Democratic approving and almost all GOPers voting "NO." Assuming it passes it maybe the most sweeping personal insurance coverage since the start of Social Security many many years ago.

Both levels of Congress are holding a rare Sunday session on this final 'nay' or 'no' on this planned bill today 3/21/10 before the Easter/Spring Holiday recess.

The debate is a mess getting out of hand as last couple of days, as both sides had violent debates including rumored use of racial insults by protestors of health care reform critics to a few Democratic Black Congressmen. The vote is supposed to take place in the Congress shortly between 430-5pm tonight. reactions?

The health care bill looked to be in serious trouble of failing until late last night. When the Obama Government reached out to moderate and consertative Democratics Members of Congress and Senators according to media reports who oppose Abortion and wants no federal monies in this health care package going to abortion clinics or related service. Still a developing story.

Yeah thats all we need to force people to take certain types of procedures and treatments cause the govt wants to save money.

This womans baby in britain died during birth because the doctors delivered the baby with forceps instead of cesarean because doctors were told to keep c-sections down cause they cost too much.

What about when they force you to take a vaccine or medication?

Nationalised health care isnt what people think it is.

Playing devil adovcate unless you rich in this country, god forbid if you get into a car accident and get paralyzed will any private company pay for you 'lifetime' treatment? Of if you get cancer, etc. Hell Chris Reeve star of the oringal Superman movies in the late 1970's/early 80's before he passed away from his accident that left paralyzed almost himself and his wife went broke and he was a Millonarie.

As my mom who moved here from England in early 1960's, their national health care service is designed for people who only need to say doctor or get medical care every year like physicals, dentist appointments, etc. However if you need urgent health care like surgeries etc in places like the UK and Canada you screwed.

I hope this works out, as i admit I still don't know the full details of this new plan. However while i agree America's health care did need reform imo, the economy is still the biggest domestic issue right now. Also the issue of this new Health Care reform Obama and his supporters on this issue dont tell you this. The populations of countries like Canada, the UK, France, etc is much smaller than the USA and thus cheaper to run. Not to mention folks from around the world coming here to get emgerency surgery when needed.

Sorry if i sound confusing in this take but that my view on the new healthcare law.:)

From what I am understanding, people will be required to pay for health insurance or face penalties. Force Americans to have health insurance. Parents can keep their children in health care coverage until they hit the age of 26. I find this quite interesting.

Protesting the bill is fine, but spitting a politician over it, that's ridiculous.

Well the Abortion thing along with the idea of being forced to pay health insurance or face the consequences are the few things I don't like. I haven't read the entire bill as I have to focus on a couple of things, but everything else about the bill is good by me.

I agree with this post!

This country was ended during the FDR years... Everything else after is an illusion of a country..

True, all those socialistic programs especially Social security. The current set up is broken as if the avg life span was still 70 and people died young from diseases that haven't been wiped out yet. SS needs to be adjusted for these discrepencies.

I'm sorry but call me ignorant. How is a health bill the end of the country?

it will fundimentally change how health care works, moving it from a more free market economic system which it has been for years to a government run system, which will open the door to even more government regulation and intrusion in our lives

Free market, ha! That's why everyone can't afford to pay for it and those that can, the insurance companies try to find ways to disqualify someone who's been paying for years for benefits and get kicked out when they finally go to use them. You sound like someone who has good health insurance. I'm tired of my tax dollars to go towards programs that help those who abuse the system of it's public food and health programs while they sit at home doing nothing and living off my money. It's about time that I can finally use my tax dollars on myself.

Ladies and gentlemen, as of 11:00 PM tonight, the Obama bill has made it through the House of Representatives 219 to 212! Now, there was not a single GOP yes vote, but considering how they were cheering on the hecklers that spat on a congressman and howled the N-word at him because he agreed with this bill, I didn't expect them to change when it came time to vote. I agree with this bill 110 percent for two reasons: First, I have a congenital heart defect that requires regular monitoring, and I would currently be considered uninsurable without this bill. Without the bill, care that I need would be well beyond what I could afford and I would have to go without. Second, I feel that the insurance market as it is now is rigged toward the corporations and against those who need the most but can pay the least. Obama's bill is the first step toward righting this imbalance.

If the government wants to make it so I can afford to get sick, I'm all for it. The insurance companies sure ain't doin it.

Definitely agree with you on this I am sick of the welfare recipients taking advantage of the system for example the well and able bodied people who can get up off their asses and find work but refuse to because they would rather get over on the system
