FRACertifyMotormen Posted June 7, 2010 Share #1 Posted June 7, 2010 Hi all. I'm a veteran TA motorman with 27 years experience. I've run every post-war IRT car from the R-12's to the R-142/142A's. Eventually, when I retire from the TA, I'd like to get my FRA locomotive engineer's license. My dream is to qualify as an engineer on the LIRR. lilbluefoxie Posted June 7, 2010 Share #3 Posted June 7, 2010 welcome to the site, I have a question, how do the early R12s and R14s compare in how they run to the newer equipment, which one is easier to drive?

M97GateAlpha Posted June 22, 2010 Share #13 Posted June 22, 2010 welcome, I am a T/O out in the bay area working at BART, I want to get a FRA locomotive engineer's license as well, how do you go about it? I figured I would try n get on with Union Pacific or Amtrak someday, if and when they are ever hiring.
