For some reason his foamer fantasy is telling him that there are more people who need to travel directly between Broadway Junction to the Upper West Side/West Midtown than people who want to use it for its normal route. Basically it will have the same affect as a train traveling from 168th Street down to West 4th Street, and then running express and making no stops until Broadway Junction, where it will terminate. At least he isn't closing down the transit museum and angering hundreds of people just to use it as a terminal, or sending the or to Coney Island. The idea here is this: Those coming from Euclid/points east and those coming from stations near Broadway Junction on the / looking for midtown can still get the at Broadway Junction without clogging up Utica Avenue, where I have the terminating. If the flyover at Broadway Junction from the at Atlantic Avenue went to the center track, I would have actually had the run through service to Rockaway Parkway and have it also double as an replacement between there and Rockaway Parkway (obviously with the Center track in use in both directions in that scenario). riders looking for midtown would also have the in this scenario (albeit with a shuttle bus ride from Atlantic Avenue). This is to prevent overcrowding of the at Utica Avenue by midtown riders who would have the , replacing the between Broadway Junction and Essex Street and then the to West 4th before going regular route. Those who normally use the for midtown simply would use the for there, albeit to 8th Avenue instead of 6th or can switch to any of the other 6th Avenue trains at Broadway-Lafayette on the same platform OR for Lex-53rd to the there. For the few specifically looking for 53rd-5th, they can switch to the anywhere between West 4th and 42nd on the same platform. Again, it's called paying attention, which I would expect riders to do, something that seems to be a lost art. My solution is just increased service on A/B/C/D/E/F/N/Q/R/1/2/3/4/5/6 trains. What would you do? Yeah, I know it's kind of unrealistic, but it's actually quite an interesting challenge IMO. Your solution wouldn't work, as there aren't enough trains to increase service on every single line. Here's my attempt at solving this: runs local in Brooklyn WTC - 168 St runs via 8 Av Express 145 St - 34 St 205 St - 34 St Coney Island - Atlantic Av 71 Av - 2 Av runs via 8 Av Local, terminates at 2 Av Metropolitan Av - Myrtle Av, every 20 minutes extended to Coney Island some trains terminate at Canal St trains terminate at 57 St; some downtown trains terminate at Canal St shuttle trains run between 57 St and 34 St some trains extended to 179 St some trains short-turn at 137 St and 14 St 241 St - 34 St shuttle, Hoyt St - Wall St 148 St - 34 St runs at full capacity, using some cars from the Okay, it's not perfect... 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

A single track shuttle will operate between Sutter Av and New Lots Av operating every 24 minutes. Free shuttle buses run between Sutter Av and Franklin Av.
