I guess now is not a good time to use the Union Square station. OMG, ! Just shut the station down to redo the entire thing. Increase headways on the Broadway Line up to 57th St while that happens. Even if the southbound switch from DeKalb to Atlantic Ave express track were to be restored, the train would go so SLOWLY over that switch that it's typically faster to just run the train local. If you need a connection to the R southbound, hopefully the connection would be held at DeKalb instead in that circumstance. paulrivera Posted December 4, 2014 Share #2480 Posted December 4, 2014 I got caught up in an incident at Brooklyn Bridge where a N/B stalled with only the first car in the station and the S/B I was on was turned back via the loop to provide service. The stalled train was taken out of service on the spot and they were already "evacuating" the stalled train through the first car when I got there and the first thing I thought was there was someone pinned under the train but thankfully that wasn't the case, it was simply a train that stalled out. With the way Lexington Ave is built, you'd have to split the line in half to rebuild the Union Square station.
