Brighton Express Posted September 2, 2012 Author Share #81 Posted September 2, 2012 UPDATE [CT1660] has made one of the best cabs known to OpenBVE. Work is still going on though, as the throttle positions are not completely set yet, and the brake handle has not been added.

ttcsubwayfan Posted September 19, 2012 Share #84 Posted September 19, 2012 Does anyone know what site I could download the various versions of BVE from? I appear to have an out of date version and I haven't the foggest idea as to where I can get the newest one. (I'm not looking for openBVE, BTW.)

-CT1660- Posted September 22, 2012 Share #86 Posted September 22, 2012 A much simpler, easy-to-use installer for Mac Users: Decided to give openBVE a quick facelift, still gonna need to update the windows exes, but so far, im planning on giving the UI a bit of an overhaul.
Brighton Express Posted September 22, 2012 Author Share #87 Posted September 22, 2012 Nice work Chris. Trains are easy, but how do you go about adding routes?
TheSubwayStation Posted September 22, 2012 Share #88 Posted September 22, 2012 I've got a question. On my Mac, I downloaded the route. I have a folder called "railway", with "object", "route", and "sound" in it. I don't understand where to put the files to make OpenBve run the route. Can anybody help? I'd sort of given up on OpenBVE for a while...
NX Express Posted September 22, 2012 Share #89 Posted September 22, 2012 If you unzip the archive, there will be subfolders called Object, Route, and Sound. The contents of the Object folder go into *\Openbve\Railway\Object. The contents of the Route folder go into *\Openbve\Railway\Route. The contents of the Sound folder go into *\Openbve\Railway\Sound.
TheSubwayStation Posted September 23, 2012 Share #90 Posted September 23, 2012 If you unzip the archive, there will be subfolders called Object, Route, and Sound. The contents of the Object folder go into *\Openbve\Railway\Object. The contents of the Route folder go into *\Openbve\Railway\Route. The contents of the Sound folder go into *\Openbve\Railway\Sound. Thanks, but when I go to LegacyContent\Railway, I only see one folder called "Route", and none called "Object" and "Sound". In that case, where should I put the contents of the "Object" and "Sound" folders from the route that I downloaded? Do I have to create folders?

The trains install like nothing, but HOW ON EARTH do you get the routes? I can find the folders but it is so complicated to unarchive them.
TheSubwayStation Posted September 23, 2012 Share #92 Posted September 23, 2012 I got the routes to work; they show up when I open OpenBVE. Unfortunately, I still don't know what to do with "object" and "sound" since there are no folders there. I downloaded the R160A, but I still don't know what to put in the "train" folder.
Brighton Express Posted September 23, 2012 Author Share #93 Posted September 23, 2012 OH. MY. GOD. I. GOT. IT. TO. WORK. Still not sure how to open the 7z files though. R110B and here I come!!!
TheSubwayStation Posted September 23, 2012 Share #94 Posted September 23, 2012 Still not sure how to open the 7z files though. To open them on a mac, you'll have to download a 7z decompressor application online. Then, when you download a 7z file, it'll automatically decompress and open into a folder. I got that to work just fine; my problem is still just where to put the resulting folders and/or their contents...
Threxx Posted September 23, 2012 Share #95 Posted September 23, 2012 *sigh* In LegacyContent, you have to CREATE the object and sound folder. You then take the folder INSIDE the object folder of the archive (not the folder named Object) and put it in the folder you created. It should work. Do the same with the sound folder. Also, do you have the original line? You need it for the update to work....
TheSubwayStation Posted September 23, 2012 Share #96 Posted September 23, 2012 *sigh* In LegacyContent, you have to CREATE the object and sound folder. Man, I was trying to figure out if I had to do that...No need to get upset. Anyway, thanks...I'll try it out.

TheSubwayStation Posted September 23, 2012 Share #98 Posted September 23, 2012 I wasn't upset, just kinda exasperated, lol Okay. Sorry to ask so many (dumb) questions, but to run the R160, do I put the folder called "R160 Alstom - 10 car" into the "Train" folder?

TheSubwayStation Posted September 23, 2012 Share #100 Posted September 23, 2012 Arrrghh...I did all of this, and now nothing at all is showing up under "browse manually" for the routes or the trains...I have all of the routes under "Routes", "IND Valley Stream" under "Objects", "F2", "F3", and "F5" under "Sound", and "R160 Alstom - 10 car" under "train"...I have no idea what's wrong.
