Brighton Express Posted November 26, 2012 Author Share #154 Posted November 26, 2012 (edited) Just say "DELETE" and a mod will delete it for you... Was this really a necessary post? Anyways... UPDATE We are almost there fellas. Almost there. Chris is almost done. 89% and looking good. Yet again, almost there. I would like to announce the release of the to JFK!!! http://www.openbveconnect.com/download.php?view.118 And on a side note, I would like to announce the release of the NYCTA tunnels pack for Trainz. The stations are rumored to come out sometime today, so keep your fingers crossed fellas. Then EL and OpenCut, and then work will resume on the R160 and R142, seeing that the exterior was an excellent success for the BVE members. Brighton Express Posted December 11, 2012 Author Share #155 Posted December 11, 2012 (edited) UPDATE Nothing much. Except that THE HAS BEEN RELEASED!!! This is a milestone in OpenBVE history, as this is the first non-fictional, open-cut route ever made for OpenBVE!!! DJ Hammers announced it as an early X-Mas present. For now it will be CPW/6 Av/Brighton Express, and Grand CC Local. The is being worked on as well, but before they release the new , they want the Astoria portion to be completed. We have some nice early presents for you guys this holiday season! The FULL B line route, Bedford Park Boulevard - Brighton Beach, has been released! Link to the download: http://www.bvestatio...dinfo.php?id=90 Mr Railfan had a little to say himself. I will try and have an updated version with timers and new signals ready by tomorrow, along with some short turn scenarios. As a side note, always remember to visit OpenBVE Connect for new updates that may not be featured on BVEStation. This is the only place you can find the updated R142 and R160, the updated to JFK, the R179 concept, and even the Path PA-4. So pay them a visit sometime. Snowblock Posted February 18, 2013 Share #166 Posted February 18, 2013 I played openBVE today for the first time in almost a year. Observations: 1. There is a severe lag problem when I play. The screen will freeze for about a second at a time, and this happens every 10 seconds or so. I've tried tweaking the video settings (and fullscreen and window modes) with no luck. I have a computer system that handles FSX just fine, so I would think BVE wouldn't be overkill. Anyone know if there's a quick fix to this?2. I'm really amazed with the amount of detail on the newer routes. I did the shuttle and parts of the and they are almost to the spot exact! The signals are working now too - including timers! The stations even have the staircases in the proper places....the only weird omission are the conductor's indication boards, which leads me to....3. I can't make a proper station stop to save my life. If I ever promote to T/O, hitting the 10 car marker is definitely going to be my biggest learning curve.4. What's with the lack of IRT routes? Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places, but apparently they've STILL only developed the and , meanwhile most of the B-Div has been completed!

BVE doesn't use DirectX or OpenGL to compensate, so this leads to lag you wouldn't get with other games. 2. That's how things are going these days. 3. LOL! 4. IRT trains and routes are hung in development, but they are coming. Just need to be patient. The 2 via the 1 is moving smoothly. Your ability to stop properly may be due to the fact that the program is lagging. A smooth frame rate is always a help in making proper stops lol. It could also be due to operating different kinds of stock, each built by different people. I usually go back into the train file and set the deceleration rate to 5 kilometers per hour per second (which is the emergency brake rate).
Snowblock Posted February 21, 2013 Share #169 Posted February 21, 2013 Thanks for the help! I changed the viewing distance to 100 and now the program is running flawlessly. I also had a T/O come over to "post" me tonight and he taught me the proper braking mechanics for making station stops. I'm doing much much better now --- the only two stations still giving me trouble at 14 St coming S/B on the , and Prospect to Church on the (I overran that station 4 times in a row before I finally got it....the platform just sneaks up on you!). Otherwise I'm hitting the 10 car marker almost every single time now. Perhaps I'll have a successful career as a T/O afterall!

Minato ku Posted March 18, 2013 Share #173 Posted March 18, 2013 I just played the (Coney Island - 179th street in express). It is good. The line is easy to drive even if there is many red light that made the trip not necessary smoth but I think that it is an overall case of the New York subway because of the numberous connection unlike other subway systems where line are more segregated. I prefer the underground section rather than elevated because of the level of detail. Elevated sections are not beautiful in BVE/OpenBVE. The R160 are easy to drive and have a good braking. I have just a question, I don't remember how to activate the ATS. It is a bit annoying without it because I don't always know the speed limit. My overall impression is positive.

Our routes don't use ATS, so you need to pay attention to the speed markers on the route. Those red signals you encountered are most likely timers, and you need to look for a GT "#" sign before them to know the speed you need to slow down to to clear them.
Minato ku Posted March 18, 2013 Share #175 Posted March 18, 2013 (edited) Ok this is why I couldn't activate it, despite what the game said. Don't worry I pay attention to the sign but I didn't undertand all of them. Many red lights had speed limit, this is pretty useful. Do you have a link where I could have the meaning of all sign ? I am more used to Japanese and LU routes. I will download the , what are the best routes ? (length, diversity, quality...)
