Adding more buses wont fix overcrowding

First off wrong Michael. Not all buses are out on the road during the peak period rolling on the streets. There should be spare buses in each garage besides Oradell just in case of a break down. The problem is you along with NJ Transit have an outdated bus garage in Oradell sitting close by a river which is a no no, can't get 45 footers up in there. Don't know if NJT gave up or not of finding property to buy to build a state of the art bus depot in Bergen County that can house 300 buses if not more. I say more because you will never know about Rockland Coaches with their operations.

Politics plays a role in our transportation infrastructure. The public can be at fault too by electing those officials that are not pro transportation. Also not holding the those officials, NJ Transit board and the Port Authority accountable. Sucks we can't have a nice bus structure like those countries in Europe

Often times, when Oradell buses break down, they get buses from Meadowlands to fill in trips. Oradell's spare factor is kind of.....nonexistent.

Howell is another example of that, they get buses from Wayne, Ironbound or Meadowlands to complete trips. They went as far as getting buses from Egg Harbor at one point to complete trips. Howell collectively has more buses in the out-of-service lot than they have spares.

There are some nice big places that could have been a NJT bus garage just north of the current one. But people seem to want golf courses instead of transit. Can't have it both ways.

I recall NJT were eyeing a spot in Teterboro to replace Oradell. Guess that one went no where...

Typical Bergen County residents in that area. Can't they just go to the golf course in Paramus? Either have a new modern bus garage with a additional seating on a 45 footer to get you to work or where you need to go everyday or have a golf course that's not open year round and not used by many people

I would guess Teterboro would be a little too far south for some routes.

That's not the reason.  The town wanted a ratable on that property, and since NJT wouldn't be paying taxes, the town put the kibosh on it.  Teterboro (roughly around where the Teterboro Landing development is) would be an ideal spot; it's closer and more convenient to highways like 46, 17 and the Turnpike for easier deadheads to New York and other places.

Also, a garage being built anywhere north of Oradell is just not going to happen, for reasons already mentioned.
