Pretty sure you and many others would have complained if this was a rush job instead.

The community has the right to complain, the MTA doesn’t promise anything on time anyway, all their recent projects have been delayed for months, especially for the (J) stations in Jamaica. A 6-7 month construction project is enough time, I would accept a month of delay or 2

What's the schedule for the rest of the stops, has it changed

The only information right now is that 69th and 52nd street will close anytime in 2024, and 103 Street will close in 2025

I think the cause of the delays was because of the queensboro plaza elevator project that shut down the line in half for 3 weeks, which disrupt track access at 82nd and 111 street, all of this happening in January and February is what causes the project to get delayed to April rather then it’s original opening date in March

Today is officially the last day of Flushing bound service at 111 and 82nd Street, 11:45 PM

Also a quick update at Woodside 61st street, the contractors are installing new steel beams where the express tracks are since the old ones have been in such corroded conditions, I’m pretty sure this is the reason why the project is so delayed, it also explains the big huge yellow machines on both ends of the station

It seems like 69th and 52nd street will be seeing overcoat painting beneath the platforms “I’m referring to the steel beams” there is strange yellow wood planks beneath the train tracks, and there is some construction noise around that area. Also at Queensboro Plaza, the first LED ads are being installed

So it seems like the contractors are finally doing this fast, at least at 111 Street the signs and benches everything has been removed, I also want to point out that they are now doing all this without the blue walls that they used last year, it’s now just gated at both stations, 82nd street has a few exposed areas, hopefully this way the project will be faster. If everything goes fine, we could potentially see the windscreens/walls gone by this month.

Here’s is a link to a Skanska safety week video, showcasing the work that’s happening at Woodside 61 Street, there is a few scenes of what’s hidden the blue walls

The platforms have been removed on both platforms in half, the the steel beam structures are being repaired and replaced, this is the reason for why the project is delayed

I’m assuming that at some point, this type of work will shift to the local tracks, leaving one-way express service and one-way local service between 74 St-Broadway and Queensboro Plaza, likely concurrent with the 69 St and 52 St work. And I’m assuming also temporary platforms will be set up at 46 St and 33 St (40 St too, or likely skipped)

Update at Queensboro plaza: The elevator structure has been installed outside the south end of the station, by the way, the plan is to rebuild the ramp that leads to the station, so they’ll most likely replace the old staircase.
111 Street: The contractors have removed the stair railings, not the whole staircase just the railings, and they’ve removed the fence the leads to an abandoned staircase at the east end of the station, this most likely means the Windscreens/walls will be removed by next week.

As of now, those stations will be skipped when either manhattan or queens bound platforms are closed. Makes sense to have the unused track open for construction trains to run along.

That’s at 74th street, Skanska is also replacing and repairing escalators at that station as part of the project

If there's one project that feels like it's taking forever it's that one.

The walls have been added at 111 Street, with the top area exposed to see through, and a new staircase has been built at 111 Street not open. Also the new walls have been installed at the west end of the station, only a small portion has been built, nothing much to see today at both stations

At 82nd street the roof is being taken down, as well as the fences outside the station, only half of the windscreens have been removed, again nothing much at all to see here

Today I went to grand central and wow they have closed off 2 stairs that go to the (7), of course this was meant to happen to expand the area as seen on the renderings posted up at the station, it’ll be so crowded during rush hours, at least the escalators have reopened, I’ll check on the escalators at 74th street as soon as possible

Aren't they installing platform barriers there too?  I saw markings along the platform that appeared to be for it.

Yeah but with all the work being done at 82nd street and 111 Street the MTA has no time to create a GO for Queensboro Plaza-Main Street service, unless they do the work at midnight

I haven't seen this elsewhere but on some of the R188's, I noticed they've taken the overhead displays on the inside of the car and pulled them back so that they could add a small camera. I guess that's their budget-friendly way of retrofitting trains with cameras.
