TeeLow Posted March 4, 2009 Share #3 Posted March 4, 2009 I'm in as well. Hope all that part time work experience adds up enough to get me by the cut. Just finished applying. Good to see others got up early to be near the top of the list when those test scores of 100% come roaring in like tax returns on April 15th to the IRS. I'm sure that by the time you're called for the position you'll have more than enough work experience to qualify. Good luck on the test guys (and gals)

This is NYC the systems we use are antiquated!! I believe you. Our office has been having computer problems for the past 2-3 weeks. Y2Julio Posted March 4, 2009 Author Share #13 Posted March 4, 2009 I just saw that they added something new to the Notice of Examination from the last exam. Anyone know what this is? There will also be a qualifying Education and Experience Test. If you pass the multiple-choice test, your Education and Experience Test Paper will be rated as vacancies occur. If you pass the qualifying education and experience test and meet all requirements and conditions, you will be considered for appointment when your name is reached on the eligible list. However, based on the projected number of vacancies, it is possible that not all candidates who pass the multiple-choice test will have their Education and Experience Test Paper rated. If they make civil service test to hard or not incredibly easy Al Sharpton and others go crazy that the test is biased because it is difficult and they didn't get as good of an education as whites, latinos, or asians. It happened a few years ago with the FDNY test and under incredible pressure they were forced to dumb down there test and hiring standards. It's disgusting but true! After reading that part again a few times, it seems like it means that they will check your qualifications when they get to your list # and are planning on calling you down? In other words, they won't check everyone's papers at once, only when they are going down the list to hire you.
