I saw 7278 in person for the first time this morning. You guys take great pics but they don't do that bus any justice! She looks great.......even with the new headlights! I will say they do need to put the big logo on the front of that bus but otherwise it looks like a great bus!

Post here for anything relating to 7278 and the hot mess that has been going on at Howell.

Wonder why they would not start where the designlines left off 7215 or so ?

I wonder if 7254 and co. will begin to arrive towards the beginning of September. The pilot arrived on time so the rest of the order should be on time as well.

It won't be so soon, I would say October-November they should be coming in, but things can change.

Never thought I'd see the day when NJT would start to experiment with those CTHs. I wonder if they'll really save enough fuel to be worth the extra investment. Only time will tell.

Well, they already have D4000Hs, so it was only a matter of time before they decided to try out some Hybrid CTs.

The only reason why the D4000Hs are rush hour only is because their reliability is crap. There was one out late a couple days ago on the 116 but that is very rare.

Same thing when 7618 was fitted with zf astronic. That didnt last long till it was converted back to allison. Electric hybrid is a one shot deal no converting back lol.

There's usually at least two out and about. I saw 4004 and 4006 out on the 114 and 116 on Monday on MyBus.

Heard from the foreman at eht there leaving that block of numbers open after the possible 47 for up to 105 buses after the option of that extra 10.

7401-7418; 7501,7505 are the first to go.

Demo should be here jan-feb. That demo will make or break the use of these hybrids, as these will be the first to be used in a 24/7 operation around the clock.

Imo hybrids are not feasible for the workhorse of nj transit, i can see city buses but mcis noooo. Hell those novas hybrids that were at hamilton were problematic, i cant speak too much on 4004-4007.

That's if NJT doesn't start cutting 55x service overnight because of casino colosures

There not cutting service, not everyone worked at the casinos. I thought ridership would have dropped on these routes but they havent.

These 45fters are coming because of crowding issues on the 552/3/9.

If they cut runs 1 through 10 on the 553/9 it wont be pretty; the 11th 553 is already on the rd by 409am. 1/552 keeps ppl going to wildwood. Goes to cape may and deadheads back to ac then goes back to cape may.
