  1. I don’t think they’ll be touching Brooklyn until it’s time for our draft to come out. But it makes me wonder what they’ll do for ours? We already have a grid like bus system.
  2. Can they extend this to bus stops too? Plenty of people just park in them like it’s nothing.
  3. I think it’s to help with people finding their buses instead of just keeping the Q prefix. seems like they’re merging routes into one to create more direct routes.
  4. Seems like the new prefix for queens will be QT. I wonder why?
  5. Flatbush should be like Tuskegee depot where all the routes are artic. The B2 and B31 are the only standard and short routes they could handle. They should get the B47 back in my opinion.
  6. Gleason is a CNG depot so they won’t be getting any diesel artics. I think those XD60s from the Bronx are going to wherever the MTA decides.
  7. Someone said a while ago that FB would probably get JFKs batch.
  8. Question, but I was watching a video of someone on the bus passing by the vendor at JFK and I saw a few new BE40s. Did the order of that commence or is that another companies BE40s? Edit: I found out 10 were leased as test buses and only 5 were put into service.
  9. I don’t blame bus drivers not asking for fares. Some people are legit crazy and they could harm your safety. It’s best to let the transit police handle it.
  10. Isn’t the queens draft supposed to be out in a couple of months? Brooklyn I know they started off.
  11. It’s not so much beef but it’s just the way how much they’re just converting things left to right. Out of nowhere this route is rumored to being converted, but then they’re trying to redo bus maps. To me it just seems there’s way too many things happening all at once. Then they want to get rid of the hybrids which puts on more strain. I personally feel the mta should work better with its own management. but I think almost everyone can agree to that.
  12. They really need to stop trying to convert these MTA bus company routes into artics so those XD60s can go back to transit. It seems to me they’re trying to hold on to them just to convert routes. My opinion but it’s sad tbh.
  13. I would assume routes like the B8 and B47 would be split.
  14. They’re losing sleep over an announcement they couldn’t even hear in their homes? Get a life.
  15. I wonder if FB is going to be a mix of LFSAs and XD60s for now on?
  16. I guess that makes sense in way. Just odd that even with the cuomo scheme they went out of their way to have sbs buses in a newer sbs scheme. They should have kept the old mta bus scheme or retrofitted it and kept the old sbs scheme which probably would have just cost less just being how the old scheme was just a wrap on the bus.
  17. I think that’s pretty silly in my opinion. The reason for sbs is to have a certain scheme to differ from the local. If things would have stayed the way of the limiteds I could understand because the limiteds were just locals on both ends of the route but skip the middle part, the sbs is express all the way.
  18. NYCT need their XD60s back asap because 1) the B46 sbs is going artic, 2) ENY has to get theirs for the B82 sbs 3) Some older artics have to get to the bronx. Even with the Queens bus redesign happening there is another capital plan that is going to get funded and will eventually have more artics for whatever bus co needs. Edit: I forgot this was the wrong threat and didn't quote to the right one.
  19. Is it late at night? I’ve noticed some routes do run 40 footers when ridership starts night is very low.
  20. The busway was supposed to go live back in August but was postponed. They didn’t adjust the Schedule because the pick started well before the busway went into effect.
  21. Why does the nypd allow those dollar vans to park on eastern parkway along Utica? I’m on the B46 sbs from an appointment and passing by the vans are parked along side the Utica Avenue side and even blocking the service road.
  22. Cities weren’t made for the traffic we have today, especially cities like NYC. All this traffic is bottle necked and it needs to be addressed. Even with freight train travel being obsolete in urban cities made traffic worse.
  23. Traffic slows down buses, cars, trucks, and buses that compete for the same space slows down traffic. How can any of you want better bus service but yet complain when they do a major change to our streets to ensure that?
  24. You can be stuck in the same traffic as a bus in nyc nowadays. Of course it’s about comfort, but convenience, to me is subjective. For others alike spending money on ridesharing would be a financial burden unlike those who have money to burn like that. One of the reasons why I don’t go out at night often is because the money I have to spend on an Uber is creeping up to what I used to spend on regular taxis. Why I also brought up the Amazon example in an urban city was that in an urban city you can get almost anything where everything is within a few block radius. Some people think it’s a convenience to shop online and wait for something they could have gotten the same day if they would have just went to the store and got it. But to them being home and not leaving their chairs is comfort that I understand but in the end you’ll end up paying more.
