  1. will not be getting R179's, Those R179's would be pushed to the (When they get cbtc, The cbtc in the R179's can run on queens blvd.) The would be getting R211's (If they install the cbtc that the uses which is different from the R160's 8377 and up,179s and 211s.) They'll be shared with the like the R143's and R160's 8313-8376) If not then Yeah they could run on the but could also be on the . The going to concourse is still a rumor. IMO it should stay at CI. If that's the case, The R160's could be shared between the (100%) and if Jamaica gets about 500 R211s. The 260 Siemens R160's could go back along with 8713-8842 and 9103-9192 and R160A2's 8653-8712. That's 540 cars, More than enough for the and lines with about 2-4 sets of R68/A's for additional Rush Hour service for the with the being 100% R68/R68A. Plus Astoria will be getting cbtc within the next 8-10 years so it would make sense to have the stay at CI anyway. The R211's could be for the rockaway pk shuttle and lines. But things can change.
  2. need tech trains because of the Astoria Terminal swap. That's why the R46's are mainly on the due to the digital signs.
  3. That's not happening when it's in Black and white that the will be getting these cars first due to 8th ave CBTC which should be complete by 2025 (2026). Every IND line will have tech trains within the next 4-6 years because of CBTC meaning all R46's have to be off the by 2024 and the R68's off the by 2025-2026. Each 8th ave line has to be fully tech by 2024-2025, This is why the won't get them first. And it wouldn't make any sense to give the R211's since it's a part time route. The R160's would be a better fit for the . Jamaica would just be a mixture of R160 and R211's. they wouldn't make it all R211's since the fleet would be too new. The could probably get about 330-350 R211's while the if it stays at Coney get the R160's from Jamaica (This would allow the Siemens to go back to CI yard first) followed by 8713-8842 group of R160's. meaning some could be shared with the
  4. GO starts early, I'm not a fan of these GO's esp with the Queens bound trains being express.
  5. People tend not to think with common sense at all. Regardless of what people think, This will be brought up. had a chance to install emergency intercoms years ago and they took cheap way out. Cars like the R46's should have had them post GOH with the R68/68A's right after. While The doors being locked do suck, They only lock them because the way the cars overhang when they turn. Having emergency intercom like the NTT's would have been helpful so this way the crew would have been alerted.
  6. We know why they are locked, We are saying they are safety hazards for lacking an Emergency intercom system to alert the crew. If They had those, Them being locked wouldn't have been a big deal since the crew can unlock the doors with a push of a button. In this case they would have left the doors locked until the next station and the police would have been right there to nab the prep. If one of these cars catches fire in a tunnel (mainly the last 2-3 cars), It would be a big problem. If they had installed the emergency intercoms like on the tech trains, The crew would know exactly what's going on. That's the issue.
  7. Please do me a favor Shut the f**k up What does that have to do with anything. The guy is a nutjob that just randomly started shooting people. Stop trying to spread propaganda for the sake of it.
  8. What kills me is that they never even bothered to install emergency intercoms in each car like the tech trains on all the R46's and R68's. That would have helped because the crew would have been notified and the police could have a greater chance of nabbing the guy. People tend to cap for these cars knowing that they are rolling safety hazards and have been for years. Locked doors and no way of communicating to the crew is just disastrous . is going to be under fire when all of this comes out. People will speak out saying they were trapped because of the locked doors.
  9. Yep, If this is the case. This will backfire real hard on the governor and anyone who supports it.
  10. They are going to really come down on over this. These 75 foot subway cars are giant safety hazards regardless of any situation. They don't even have an emergency intercom system like the tech trains. But This is some serious shit and with all the things i've been seeing between idiots going into to tunnels vandalizing shit and other non sense. I knew something like this would happen. Maybe this is a wake up call to keep our city safe and our subways safe by ramping up Police.
  11. I'm hoping the next holiday train is 2 trains like what they are doing with the Yankee special . Have the set of R32's from last year or the TOMM with the R1/9's. It would divide the crowd. I like what they are doing here.
  12. They edited the article, The redbird part was edited out so they might have made a mistake. I was hoping to see the TOMC but it seems the corrected them so it's just the low V's.
  13. I will never understand why they do these types of GO's at the same time knowing that people will use the by default. They should have had express shuttle bus service to Myrtle and Wycoff for the and have the go to 96th st.
  14. Potential Bus Depot list of redesigned routes Q1-QV JFK loses the Q6 but gains more buses for the extended Q10 and etc. (I still think this merge won't go through.) Q2-QV Q3-JA Q4-JA Q5-JA Q7-JFK Q8-JFK Q9-JFK Q10-JFk Q11-FR/JFK Q12-CS Q13-CS Q14-FP or LGA (the Eliot ave part of the Q38, Could be FP since this is a new route) Q16-CS Q17-CS (makes sense to move this to CS, It won't terminate in Jamaica anymore.) Q18-LGA Q19-CP Q20-CS Q21-FR/JFK Q22-FR Q23-LGA Q24-ENY Q25-CP Q26-QV (replaces the Q27) Q27-CS (Q27 goes back to CS, makes no sense for it to come out of QV) Q28-CS Q31-JA Q32-CS Q33-LGA Q35-FR Q37-JFK Q38-CP or LGA (Could go back to LGA or stay at CP) Q39-LGA Q40-JFK Q42-JA Q43-QV Q44-CS Q45-QV Q46/48-QV Q47-LGA Q49-LGA Q50-ECH Q51-JFK,BP or ENY (This one is very Tricky. BP is right there on linden in the middle of the route, Could deadhead to BP like the Q110, The western terminal is not far from ENY or JFK depot) Q52-JFK/FR Q53-LGA Q54-FP Q55-FP Q56-ENY Q57-BP or QV (BP deadhead isn't far since the western terminal is where the Q112 terminates, QV could get this route since it's also not too far from the depot at it's eastern terminal) Q58-FP Q59-GA Q60-JFK Q61-CS Q62-CS Q63-LGA? GA? (this one is tricky) Q65-CP Q66-CP Q67-LGA Q68-LGA or GA Q69-LGA Q70-LGA Q72-LGA Q73-QV Q75-JA Q76-CS Q77-JA Q78-CS or JFK (JFK is very close to the southern terminal of this route) Q80-FP Q82-QV Q83-QV Q84-JA Q85-JA Q86-JA Q88-QV Q98-CS or FP (This one is very tricky) Q104-LGA Q105-LGA Q109-JFK (I think JFK would get this route, But BP could also get it) Q111-BP Q114-BP Q115-BP B53-ENY or GA B57-GA or FP B62-GA Express routes stay at their Depots that they are at currently New Express route QM65- BP (fills the void of losing the Q64 and the BP would make the best sense because the depot is right there not to far from the terminal and the fact they are reducing the QM21 makes it obvious BP is getting the QM65.) I just don't want bus B/O's getting screwed because I know put's NYCT on top while Bus company is at the very bottom. This whole thing is going to be a big mess since Queens have different unions. I don't want to hear about NYCT, MaBstoa and Bus company merging because I heard that same rumor for 14 years now.
  15. I made a list of the routes on which Depots they could come out of, I wonder if i should post it here or in a separate thread? Nothing much changes with an exception of the merged or new routes. I think the majority of the routes will still be at their respective depots.
  16. looking at the QM65, I could see it being a Baisley route .Q109 could also be a Baisley route as well. I don't know about the Q57 though, It could still be a BP route but it could also be a QV route.
  17. The Only issue is that the doesn't serve briarwood during the day, Only the . Only Off peak and Weekends the serves briarwood. I think that's why he thinks union turnpike is a better terminal since you can connect to both the 24/7. I Still Think they were better off Having the Merged Q1 serve Merrick Blvd instead of replacing the Q6. That would have made more sense while the Q25 either serve it's current terminal or have it terminate somewhere else close to Jamaica. Also If the Combined Q1 is a thing where it replaces the Q6, JFK would not get the newly revised Q1 since that would stay at QV but gain more with the Q10 extension.
  18. People Still use the Q60 from South Jamaica, Esp in the peak hours. Them running every other bus to archer ave was a good move to balance out the route. The Q20 should have went as far as Supthin Blvd if they wanted to cut it back. Yea losing the Q65 LTD isn't gonna go well. The Super routes like the Q1 merge and the Q25 on Merrick I'm mixed on. The Q25 on Merrick will have frequent service, People who live along Merrick along where the Q25 will be serving has a vocal community. So I can see them improving the Q25 since it would be serving the local stops btween Springfeild and Jamaica. I don't see the Q1 super route being a thing since it's a grey area. The Q6 is a very busy route while the Q1 only gets busy during the peak hours on hillside ave. JFK would lose this route to QV which isn't going to sit well with JFK depot.
  19. I think they should do away with the Q1/Q6 merge and instead have the Q1 go down Merrick Blvd while the Q25 terminates at it's current terminal. The Q6 would stay as is with the modifications. I wonder how this will go knowing that Queens have different unions. BP,LGA and CP are local 100 while JFK-FR,JA,CS and QV have different unions. But that Q1/Q6 merge might not happen as people along the Q6 would probably not agree with it. The Q6 is one of JFK's busiest routes and Merging it with the Q1 would cause more issues. As a fan the Q25 on Merrick is very interesting because we will see a CNG bus on Merrick Blvd but as a rider the route would simply be too long and the fact that it's local makes it even worse. I remember Queens Surface telling before the takeover to split the Q25 in half (Jamaica to Flushing, Flushing to college point) due to how unreliable the route was due to the traffic in downtown flushing. Them canning the Q113 in favor of the Q114 is dumb. Just keep it as the Q113 and have the Q114 as the local between Farmers and Parsons. I'm happy that the Q111 is an express rush route but a stop at Linden blvd is needed. The Q38 being split i have no issue with, As long as either part is kept, I'm good as that's my back up bus to take to the train just in case Queens blvd is screwed up. (I know they kept the Q38 portion because line crews use that bus to get to metropolitan from Rego park). The Q10 being merged with the Q64 isn't bad, Now those people will have a 100% artic route. The Q47 should have been split like before with the (old Q45 coming back) merging those 2 routes was a bad idea back in 2010 or 2011. That LGA part should have been more streamlined as it still has those turns which suck.
  20. This is a lot better than the first draft but they still need to do some work but other than that, It isn't that bad compared to the first draft.
  21. When they first Got to Jamaica, 2 sets of 9800's were on the . These were Jamaica's again as soon as the went back to it at the start of the new Pick. They just started swapping cars since those 98/9900's are due for an inspection. That's why they kept those cars on the , The 3rd week of the pick 9243-47 was on the . 9853-9942 already has CBTC in them and were running in CBTC before they were swapped to CI. remember some of the 9900's stayed at Jamaica for another month before going to CI for an earlier 9800 set.
  22. 3766-3783 stayed at BP since being delivered. 3764 was sent to FR along with 3500-3522,3524 and 3759-3765 for 3525-3546,3548-3559 10 years ago due to a mileage swap. 3523 was sent to JFK back in 2018 or 19 (if I'm correct). Some former 35/3700 (3764/65) BP units did come back around 2014 before they were moved to LGA or JFK when the XD60's were delivered.
  23. In some cases yeah that's true but not all transit fans think like that. My issue is how it's being done. Instead of investing in more of a standardized way of doing things, They half ass it. I have no issue with the platform doors, My issue is the fact that this is more important than station rehabs. Supthin - Archer looks like a hell hole and other stations are in need of a need a rehab. Times sq on the is the only renovated station getting platform doors. All of this is just putting lipstick on a pig instead of doing it right.
  24. It can work when done right. Why do platform doors in a station that needs rehab (Supthin/Archer) People in this community tend to lack common sense and not think. All of the decisions is making are due to political pressure. We have stations and elevated structures falling apart, That should be more of the focus vs. platform screen doors.
