    I think additionally to inferior power distribution system over there, the problem with NTTs going to Far Rock is simply because their motors consume more power than the rest of the stock. Ntt motors are 150 hp 46 are 115 32 are 100 Under ideal conditions (full load) a set of NTTs will need more than 2k more amps than 46, while the real life consumption would be less for both sets, the climb over the bridge in the flats will put the power system to a serious test.

    I beg to differ, natural light is the best light source available on this planet, I'd take it any day of the year unlike this cold, blue tinted fluorescent garbage there is in the subways, same goes for LEDs. Incandescent light is the closest man made source to resemble sun light, too bad it consumes too much power in order to illuminate as much as newer lights do and thus why it was removed from the subways.

      Well, we got dislike option not too long ago, I'm pretty sure there were and will be posts which will accumulate even more "dislikes" than this one. As for the guy, idk who that is and frankly couldn't care less.

    IND 60' 250 customers, seating 50 IRT 51' 200 customers, seating 44 75' are 70 seating, excluding 46 B car which seats 76, there are no documented numbers on max capacity. Because of seating arrangements, 46s and 68s have smaller max capacity if lets say they were equipped with longitudinal seating.

    If memory serves me right It was done to avoid acquisition by PRR *edit Although this factor could be at play, the main reason IRT was build that way is that it was standard of the time. In later iterations design was improved which was used in construction of BRT/BMT/IND lines

      those photos you took of the (6) and <6> were awesome. It was hard to tell but did they turn the front sign to <6> when running it on the express or did they just leave it and turn the green rings to red

      Thanks, about R9, I had problems too because I decided to experiment which screwed up almost all of the photos.

      I dont think I saw you there, then again i have no idea what you look like hehe. I caught one of the afternoon northbound runs at Broadway Lafayette then went to Queens Plaza and changed direction and rode it to 5 Ave/53 St

      Well I'm on the budget so bus was my only option. Greyhound website has some issues so I got Bolt instead.
