Princelex Posted January 19, 2010 Share #26 Posted January 19, 2010 I miss the days when the front of the buses were ad free and they had the(NYCT) logo in the early 90s and the big logo in the back.Bring back the (NYCT) logo!!! I remember that and I liked it like that too. I agree with you, they need to bring back the (NYCT) logo.
jfkdepot09 Posted January 19, 2010 Share #27 Posted January 19, 2010 I'm not a big fan of ad on front of buses...I see jamaica only have it on the front....and when jfk depot have them on the side they do a bad job cutting the ad out .....why are buses ad less in the front? Fresh Pond Posted January 22, 2010 Share #29 Posted January 22, 2010 Same here! That makes 3 of us  As for the ads, it doesn't really matter to me cuz I don't really pay attention. But what irks me is that some of the ads are months old and falling off. Also the ads on the top of the RTS's was a big fail. ...BTW the Mr. G ads on the front of the buses is like a kick in the balls when its cold. Its like he's taunting you lol
R32 3348 Posted January 23, 2010 Share #30 Posted January 23, 2010 If it keeps the fare low and keeps bringing in advertising revenue into the then I'm all for it.

TransitStop Posted January 25, 2010 Share #32 Posted January 25, 2010 the MTA makes so much money off advertisments here in ottawa we have a whole bunch of buses ( mostly pinecrest ( those are extra's )) that have adds for OC Transpo themselves where im not sure what profit is being made their. o and our fares are rising again i belive 25 cents up to 3.25 o and as you can see some dont even have adds )

You have to accept the fact that advertising revenue covers only very small portion of the operating revenue; not enough to get rid of the deficit. Nova RTS 9147 Posted January 25, 2010 Share #34 Posted January 25, 2010 Love the ads. I know some of my fellow rail/bus enthusiasts won't agree with me, but the should seriously consider full subway car and bus wraps. They looked good on the Liberty Lines buses and I think they would also look good on our buses. Plus it's extra revenue for the agency thats not dependent on the state. KNIGHTRIDER3:16 Posted January 25, 2010 Share #35 Posted January 25, 2010 I can't stand them ,They take away from the look well the side ones anyway . (T)he front ones could stay.

aemoreira81 Posted January 25, 2010 Share #37 Posted January 25, 2010 If it keeps the fare low and keeps bringing in advertising revenue into the then I'm all for it. That said, IMO, the MTA should start selling ad space on the front of every bus, with the exception of the C40LFs which don't have room for it owing to placement of A/C vents and the license plates. This includes the MCIs, which currently do not carry front ads, and every bus at MTA Bus.
R32 3348 Posted January 25, 2010 Share #38 Posted January 25, 2010 I agree that the should seriously start selling some ad space. I remember reading a NY Times article about it back in 2008 when they started putting ads on the outside of subway cars and they said that it could generate hundreds of millions of dollars annually. It's something to consider once the economy recovers and advertising revenue kicks back up again.

JOrion3741 Posted January 25, 2010 Share #40 Posted January 25, 2010 I like Front Ads on MTA NYCT buses. I wish they could put them on MTA Buses. Why haven't they placed them on MTA Bus Co. Buses?
NX Express Posted January 25, 2010 Share #41 Posted January 25, 2010 They should put those little outside ads on all trains (although it will look pathetic).

Bx41 Wakefield Posted January 26, 2010 Author Share #44 Posted January 26, 2010 I also would prefer to see the logo as the bus is approaching. It's like the is greeting me as I board the bus and then saying thanks for riding.

EE Broadway Local Posted March 13, 2010 Share #47 Posted March 13, 2010 I'll admit that I started to like the ads on the front, but now that I'm seeing them in so many bus photos, I like the simple (NYCT) and more. I don't think front ads would fit/look good at all on the new Designline buses.
