It's reported that 76th Street, abandoned since December 1948, may be reopening as a branch of the Transit Museum. All that is needed is to locate and restore the original stairwells to Pitkin Avenue.

The Transit Museum reportedly has plans to use 76th Street to display the newest and recent retired subway cars allowing more room at Court Street for the oldest el and subway cars.
