nycbusfan Posted May 7, 2010 Share #5 Posted May 7, 2010 Great shots Trevor, My favorite is the one of 515. Great Photos, I see they have some gilligs now? As of a month ago the Private Transportation roster looked like this. 502-1999 Gillig Phanton - ex-Avis - Mainly used for the Williamsburg Trolley 504-1998 Gillig Phanton - ex Avis - Mainly used on the Williamsburg Trolley. it does appear on the B110 more often than 502 however. 505-507-1990 Orion V - ex-Madison Metro. 508-1998 Gillig Phantom - ex-Avis - Mainly used on the Williamsburg Trolley. 510-1992 Orion V - ex-UTA. 511-1995 Gillig Phantom - ex-Twin City Metro (might be retired). 512,514 - Gillig Advantage ex-Avis - Used on the Williamsburg Trolley 515- 1995 Gillig Phantom - ex-Twin City Metro 516 - 1996 Gillig Phantom - ex-LYNX 517 - Gillig Advantage - might be ex-Palm Tran. engineerboy6561 Posted May 9, 2010 Share #12 Posted May 9, 2010 Great shots! I remember las year when I intermittently fanned the B62 (then still a part of the unified B61) and every so often I would see one of these buses go by. Apparently Private Transportation Corporation operates these routes as a service to the Chasidim (Orthodox Jewish) communities in Williamsburg and Borough Park (hence the odd Friday schedule). I like the new fleet they added; at last we don't have to go out to Suffolk to go Gillig-hunting. It's too bad for the Orion Is that apparently got replaced, though. By the way, if anyone has a schedule departing Williamsburg or a list of stop locations I'd really appreciate it if you posted it here.
