Everyday im hearing something new coming out of NYC.what the hell s going on down there. My thing is,Is that if scientist can build an Atom bomb, why they cant make the right stuff to get rid of them?

They can and do. It's difficult to eradicate a species of insects, since the majority of them reproduce faster than the average person breathes.

Thats what alot of people fail to realize. Samething with roaches. All you need is one and you have a serious problem. 1 roach is to many. Anyways, if you kill all of the bedbugs and a pregant one is left roaming and didnt get affected, then you have a even more problem. Spiders, 1 of them SOBs can drop hundreds in one birth, and im sure by now these insects are adapting to raid, because that shit isnt worth a damn. And even if you kill all of them in that area or place, insects will always find away and they will never die out.

A little off topic. A friend of mine bought these imported spiders from Brazil, and we all know Brazil is home to the most leathel spiders on the planet, anyway, he mated a Wandering Spider with basic Tarantulas, and I tell you the baby spiders that came were insanely aggresive. He had so many spiders that he went to a remote area down in Florida and let them go.

Oh yes Bedbugs 2010's media sensation story of a 'boogie man aka freddie crugar.'

Must be a slow news cycle for it to get so much media attention.

Seriously If people did a better job of spraying for bugs(no offense Metsfan)and cleaning we would not be in this mess.

Spraying doesnt help anymore. This new resurgence are actually pesticide resistant when it comes to over the counter remedies.

There's no new exotic strand of the common cold killing people with no immune system, and unemployment is getting old. So right now (unless something blows up), the daily pornography you'll see on the news will be bedbugs and the Muslim community centre. At least until the November election coverage begins in September.

Bedbugs aren't just ordinary bugs. Ordinary spray doesn't kill them. You have to get one that's specialized for bedbugs (and often more costly), and even after spraying there is an almost 100% chance several have survived. You basically have to completely get rid of any and every bedbug hiding place if you want the problem to recede. I know quite a few people with bedbug problems and I hear it is a TOTAL B!TCH to get rid of. So it's not a slow news day if they make it on the news. Bedbugs mean business.

In terms of the cumbersome-ness of getting rid of, I compare bedbugs to head (or pubic) lice...

There's no quick-fix with getting rid of/killing these things in mass numbers....

people that have them should realize/know that there is no "raid" for bedbugs...

I'm inclined to think that ordinary spray only irritate these things... you know, kinda like gnats are to humans & other larger animals... guess the perfect word for it is, being a... nuisance....

Yes this is a news story. However our national news media here in US, overshadowed a bigger news story such as the tragic typhoon flooding in Pakstian that killed thousands.

There's nothing worse than going on vacation and getting bedbugs from a hotel room, That and shining a black light on the sheets and mattress.

A few years ago they had a pesticide called DDT (dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane) that can wipe this problem out with a punch but it was discoverd it caused cancer and harmful to animals and birds.

They use hound dogs to detect if there are bedbugs in your home and alot of hotels in ny are starting to use them to check beds and furniture and also department stores.

DDT wouldn`t work on todays bug, even if it was re-released.

Totally, totally bad illegal, wrong thing to do. There are all ready too many dumped exotic "pets" in florida & elsewhere. If they are spiders you kill them or they can live 10-20 years & screw up the ecosystem completely forever.

As far as bed bugs, i think its because of this hot weather they are exploding like a infestation bomb.
